				<title>Necron Doom Scythe Death Ray</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I was thinking about putting a Doom scythe in my army against orks, seeing as it will do well against their high numbers. What i wanted to know is how the death ray shoots. You can pick one spot in front of the ark up to 12".  Then roll i think it's <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3D6</span> and pick another point that far away. But does the ray hit stuff between the vehicle and the 2 points you picked. Me and my brother thought it would, but if not what's the fluff behind how it shoots. Does a line just appear out of one spot and shoot right into another? Or does the vehicle draw a line horizontally, which would then hit everything in front of the vehicle?]]></description>

It could be past the original 12 inch range, or within it, up to you, you then draw a line between the two markers. Any model the line touches take a strength 10, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 1 hit.<br /> <br /> As far as where the line must go, it isn't specified, so I would assume since this thing is basically a jet on steroids, it could be in any feasible direction<br /> <br /> Just my take on it]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ The ray only hits models between the two points (the one you picked and the one <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3d6</span>" away).  <br /> <br /> Fluffwise (I don't have the book so it may/should be explained there) it's a high altitude (for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> anyway) vehicle that is doing a strafing run with a hull mounted gun.  Without pointing straight down at the ground (suicidal) it can't hit the ground right in front of it.]]></description>

My take on the line is it goes 12" and is then extended by the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3d6</span>. Any model under this line takes a S10 AP1 hit, therein if you come against the side armour of three battlewagons side by side and roll 18 (so the range is 30") each wagon takes a hit on side armour]]></description>

Usually folk think this means within the arc of a hull mounted weapon (if it is indeed a hull mounted weapon) and within 12" of the weapon.  <br /> <br /> Then pick a second point within <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3d6</span> of the first.  I believe this to mean roll <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3d6</span>, and choose a point ANYWHERE on the board  that far away.  Draw a line between those two points. This is what is hit.  Facing and armor and cover are determined from the firing unit, as per normal. ]]></description>
