Why do all the bad guys in Hollywood have to be British though? Well, I know why, but still... Enough already! I saw a post about this somewhere else. Apparently Charles Bishop Weyland replaces Peter in 2030 after he died/disappeared or something. He is also the one that merges Weyland with Yutani after taking control at some point.

Yeah its close enough but its interesting to note Weylan Yutani is never mentioned in Alien - its simply "The Company".
In additon Weyland Yutani was the creation of James Cameron for Aliens, he added the D to Weylan and ran with the idea of Yutani after it, creating the now infamous logo.

Also the Japanese feel of Yutani was mirrored (almost subsonsiouly) by the suit designer Mobious (sp?) in Alien. Scott felt they looked almost like ancient suits of Japanese armor.
