				<description><![CDATA[ Hello Guys!<br /> <br /> I v's a Grey Knight player this weekend and he turned up with a list that I had never seen before.<br /> <br /> It was a small 750 point battle and he showed up spamming units of Humans with that special character Inquisitor. He had 4 units of these low quality troops with 3 Plasma Cannon Cannons and a Large Blast <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 1 (or 2) template psychic attack per unit (36" range).<br /> <br /> Now I know very little about the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> codex but lets just say he pretty much blew my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(493);'>DoA</span> army off the table within a couple of turns. I managed to make it to one unit and deal with it quickly in Close Combat but was a sitting duck after that. I mean plasma is the bane of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>FNP</span> lists so cudos to him for a bit of planning.<br /> <br /> I just wanted to ask if he was using them right? It seemed way to good to be true. I know in the past he has been very shady on his rules (he just does not read them properly, not trying to cheat) but I'm starting to feel like <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(127);'>TFG</span> every time I have to question what he is fielding and ask to read their rules. <br /> <br /> So was he doing this right? I mean 4 units of them in a 750 pointer Throwing out 3 Small Blast <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> 7 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 2 and 1 Large Blast <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 1 each seems out of this world good, Mind you he failed a few of the psychic test to cast the blast attack he still got the majority of them off.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Its legal as far as I can see in my codex. Would only run at 130 pts per unit too. Unit composition would have to be as follows<br /> <br /> 3 inquisitorial servitors - 30 pts<br /> -3 plasma cannons - 30 pts<br /> 60 pts<br /> <br /> 7 Psykers - 70 pts<br /> 70 pts<br /> <br /> Total = 130 pts<br /> <br /> Not a very efficient unit though, as any unit with servitors but no inquisitor cannot move, shoot or assault if the mindlock test is failed (failed on a 1,2,3). Plus if the psychic test causes a perils, all 7 psykers suffer perils. And with no invulnerable save...<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>Tl</span>;dr legal but inefficient due to chances of failure. 2 tests per turn, first for mindlock (assuming no attached inquisitor) that has a 50% chance of failure resulting in no action, plus risk of mass perils for the psykers. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ His list must've been:<br /> <br /> Inquisitor Coteaz - 100pts<br /> <br /> Henchmen Warband w/ 3x Servitor + Plasma Cannon, 8x Psyker - 140pts<br /> Henchmen Warband w/ 3x Servitor + Plasma Cannon, 8x Psyker - 140pts<br /> Henchmen Warband w/ 3x Servitor + Plasma Cannon, 8x Psyker - 140pts<br /> Henchmen Warband w/ 3x Servitor + Plasma Cannon, 8x Psyker - 140pts<br /> <br /> With 90pts worth of something else included.<br /> <br /> Whilst it's a bit of a pain to start with, everything bar Coteaz is BS3, T3, and with a 5+ or 4+ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(400);'>AS</span>, and the longest-ranged weapon is 36".<br /> <br /> He seemed to be doing it right, but what troubles me is this:<br /> <br /> <blockquote class="uncited"><div>Mind you he failed a few of the psychic test to cast the blast attack he still got the majority of them off.</div></blockquote><br /> <br /> If you just mean he failed, then fair enough, but if you mean he got PotW, then every psyker in the unit is affected, and they all die due to lack of an invul.<br /> <br /> A good counter to the list would be dropping a Furioso with a Heavy Flamer in next to a unit and torching them; return attacks will either be a Psyker's attack, and thus whas a good chance of scattering off and doing nothing, or plasma cannons, which can only glance his shiny FAV13. If he survives the turn, awesome, you can charge in somewhere, if not, then it doesn't matter much, because the damage he and the drop-pod can do will more than make up for it.<br /> <br /> His Psykers can never use anyone elses leadership for their attack, so he's testing on Ld8. A Psychic Hood somewhere should stop most of them, and Fear of the Darkness can force them to make an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(82);'>Ld</span> check on Ld6, and possibly run off. Shield of Sanguinius would also give you a chance of surviving incoming fire.<br /> <br /> Giving your squads flamers for when they drop in will help remove any psykers, and might even roast a servitor or two.<br /> <br /> If you don't want to use a Furioso, you could always use a Regular Dreadnought with a heavy flamer and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> Heavy Flamer/Heavy Bolter/Assault Cannon/Autocannon (the autocannon only if it's glued with that weapon, the first 3 are more efficient against this list); he's cheaper, and can have a more efficient loadout, but is more prone to return fire.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Fair enough, list looks legal then.<br /> <br />  He didn't get any perils of the warp just fail on the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(82);'>LD</span> 7 every now and then.<br /> <br /> One thing you mentioned that he WAS NOT doing is this Mindlock? on a 1,2, or 3?? he was never doing any sort of test other than psychic tests!!!! He only the one Inquisitor (Coteaz) and he wasn't in a unit. He used it to bait me into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>cc</span> in the open as my assault marines closed in.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ All Servitors suffer from a rule called Mindlock; if there's not an Inquisitor in a unit containing them at the start of each <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> turn, then the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> player rolls a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>D6</span> for each unit containing them that does not also contain an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(272);'>Inq</span>.<br /> <br /> On a 1-3, they succumb to mindlock, and the unit (not just the Servitors) can't move, shoot, or assault (but fights normally in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ No problem, like I said: possible but inefficient. Best counter is just the trusty old bolter, as it is ap5, and the psykers have a 5+ armour save. Bolters and bolt pistols should chew through this list, especially if you drop in danger close with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(493);'>DOA</span> jump pack marines. Can't place the target too close to his own guys as crap <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> means he risks nuking his own guys.]]></description>
