I took a 40k break for a while & over the last week, the urge has gotten stronger & stronger. I've re-read the GK codex cover-cover several times & have settled on a Draigo-wing army. It's loosely themed on the battle of Prospero, where the entire Thousand Sons legion was fighting to save their world & all their most veteran troops were called into action.

Now again, I want to stress that I don't intend on this being a WAC list, nor do I even expect it to have necessarily a positive win/loss ratio - I just simply want to have an army of Paladins (tho, to be fair, against all but the most insane of 'net-lists' or GT builds, I still think it will have a marginal chance @ success in most cases). But, I have some pts left over & I want to see if any of the great minds here on Dakka have any ideas.

HQ
Draigo - I know he doesn't really have a direct correlation to any TS fluff, he's just mandatory for this list structure I want.

Librarian w/ MC ward stave, psybolts & Might of Titan - obviously as all the powers are just 5pts/power, this can be interchangable as necessary. However, it stacks w/ HH & gives that juicy 2D6 armor pen against vehicles, which will be needed in more than one case I'm sure.

Troops
(3x) 5 man Pally squad, 2 Halberds, 1 MC D. Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Apothecary w/ Ward stave, Brotherhood Banner & psybolt ammo - Expensive? Yes. But again, these guys will still be able to take massive amts of firepower. Obviously IG & heavy anti-tank lists will chew through these guys w/ a quickness, but thankfully in my area's meta, most people aren't extreme power gamers, so for the most part, I'm not horribly worried.

At this point the list total is 1855. This leaves me w/ 145 pts left over. I've considered adding a Dread w/ 2 T/L Autocannons & Psybolts for vehicle suppression @ range, but I'm fairly certain that due to the fact that there's no other vehicles in the list, he's just gonna be destroyed 1st turn. If I do add him in, that takes the list total to 1990.

So, thoughts? Ideas? Criticism's?

Dropping one Dreadnought, one of the Solodins and the Teleport Homer on the Libby you'll may take a Stormraven gunship, for DoW deployments and or tricky situations when some "moving" will be necessary.

Anyway, with all kind of setups, try to keep the troops in the 10+5+1 patter. If needed you'll be able to combat squad the 10 men team and, thanks to Grand Strategy from Draigo, you'll even have some Dreads scoring for objectives games.

Otherwise, sacrificing some Paladins (and competitiveness) for a team of regular Terminators you'll may consider a setup like this one:

Less competitive than the full Paladins setup but more interesting on the modelling side.
You'll can customise the big team of Paladins as the inner circle of psyonics (of what I don't remember the name) that what used to be lead by Ahriman (the Libby), Draigo will be a sort of Commander of your invention, the Terminators regular TS of high level, the Solodin as a sort of uber explorator, the 2 dreads (if you'll be able) in the tipical pre-heresy look (I advice you to give a look at www.underthecouch.net) and finally the Dreadknight as a count-as Magnus the Red.
