I also have to wonder if the Longgunners might actually work with here better than any other caster if you can drop an Affliction on a target then hit it with double firing longgunners. Highshields would be another option, but I think the Lgs win out due to range.

35 point list has me pondering something like this.

That gives me a couple stealth targets to Mark, two decent shooting units to allow for "upkeep Affliction/shoot/recast Affliction/shoot". A couple weaponmaster units for hth that makes it through. Carvolo might get swapped for Sylys.

I find in general, the gun mages to be a more consistent (if weak POW) firebase, and their high DEF makes them generally more survivable against direct attacks.
