While using CGI to render the Mi-Go sort of took the picture out of the period, it would have been impossible to portray them by use of an actor in a costume, and using stop-motion or marionettes would have been too limiting. Anyway, it succeeded in making them seem as otherworldly as H. P. Lovecraft depicted them in the story. All in all, it was very enjoyable.

Gaah! How could I have forgotten about Shadow Over Innsmoth. There was a terrible Syfy movie made that was a failed attempt at a modernization of it, called Dagon. It sucked out loud. I have to agree with Mannahnin, though. I didn't hate it. It was something good to have on while I painted.
