IOB Minibook Vs. BRB

I think the fluff is pretty cool, and there's two battle reports with some pretty great things for stimulating imagination on non-tourney style gaming. If that's your thing, then you should at the very least borrow a copy to look through those some time. If you're very much only looking for the rules with nothing else tacked on, then the IoB book will do you just fine.

IOB Minibook Vs. BRB

Lots of extra pages that you may never read.
If you are learning fantasy then the iob book is much better since you get lost in pages of fluff while looking for rules.
Personally I love the little book and it's just the rules and magic items and the lores minus all fancy extra stuff in a convenient little book.

IOB Minibook Vs. BRB

I had to check pg 462. It is awesome.

Getting into WHFB, I actually recommend the big book over the tiny one. It is much more expensive to start that way, but if you know you are getting into the game, the big book gives you a load of resources to play with that you simply don't get in IOB.

The art is fantastic, the scenarios inspiring, and the fluff gives you enough to make an educated decision on what army to start. I personally play for narrative, so all the extra stuff really makes the book for me.

Plus, if you don't want to do Skaven of Helves, IOB is pointless.

-cgmckenzie
