You call GW, describe the issue, they invariably send you a replacement and you get to keep the original.

A retailer will almost certainly require you to send the defective item back. Depending on how long ago you received the item you may be required to pay for the postage to return it. IIRC if it is within 7 days you don't.

Seems an obvious choice to me, certainly from my experience anyway.

First it wasn't in stock when it said it was so i had a 3 week wait, and then they sent me the wrong item and I had a month long wait to get the right item.
I'll never use their web business again, they were curt in their emails and unfriendly in their tone.
