Vulkan and some bikes,2K

Hello Dakka,
I've got a list for you to check out and critique, please.

Vulkan
Captain,Bike,Thunder Hammer
Command Squad,Bikes,4 Shields,2 Thunder Hammers,2 Melta Guns

Assault Terminators w/ Thunder Hammers, Land Raider Redeemer,Extra Armor,Multi-Melta

Bike Squad,Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta,2 Melta Guns
Bike Squad,Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta,2 Melta Guns
Bike Squad,Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta,2 Melta Guns
Bike Squad,Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta,Melta Gun

Attack Bike,Multi-Melta
Attack Bike,Multi-Melta

1995 total points

I played a friend and totally stomped his list with a more standard Vulkan list. So,this list if for him. I'm not a fan of a single land raider, but foot slogging those terminators will suck. However, the LRR will give some cover for a few bikes. He's got some land speeders, but I felt going all bikes might be the way to go. Vulkan goes with the terminators. Captain goes with the command squad. Everything can move 12 inches,at a time, and try to kick some ass. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Where are the flamers?

Also, I could be wrong but I believe the bike squads must have at least 5 bikers to count as troops (not sure if that was included in your math).

If you're going against a heavily mechanized army this will definitely do some damage with the twin-linked melta goodness. But against a more balanced list or hordes it could run into some issues. I can see a genestealer-shock army having a good time chewing through that list.

Hope this helps! Have fun!

Re:Vulkan and some bikes,2K

Thanks for the input. Against horde type armies, this list swill struggle, for sure. Hopefully the flamestorm cannons and the assault cannon will help mitigate some of that problem. Too much of a death star factor, but it is,what it is.

Re:Vulkan and some bikes,2K

I'd personally run the command squad as quad plasma, drop the hammers and shields, give the captain hellfire rounds. There is plenty of anti-tank in the list already. If you want to use Vulkan's abilities 100% then give them all flamers.

I would then double up on the attack bikes or maybe look at some landspeeders.
