I love Krylon black primer (goes on smooth and is only 3-4 bucks) so I was poking around their site for possible silver spray options. They have 5 metallic paint/primer combinations, two of which are silver. Anyone use these? ( http://www.krylon.com/products/dual_metallic_finish ) If not, what silver sprays have you used (any kind, they don't have to be paint/primer combos)? I know people use airbrushes but I am not going to paint enough models for an airbrush to be worth it, so I am looking for spray cans.

Also, I've found a Krylon Stainless Steel paint, which is another possibility.

ok, I have done some more research, and some folks think Tamiya acrylic metal sprays are very good. Particularly the light gun metal ( TS-42 ) and the bare metal silver ( AS-12 ). They aren't cheap but they are made for hobbyists. Has anyone used these? Only spray metal paint that doesn't do that is alcad 2 but isn't exactly cheap.

A bit grainy I can handle, the AP spray was more grainy than I'd like, but maybe I just screwed up applying it. I may have to try one of the other options and see what happens. One thing to remember with armypainter spray is that you need to spray from a short distance. AP says 5cm distance is recommended but I spray from 2.5cm-5cm. If you spray too far away you will get grainy affect regardless of primer color (chainmail, white etc.).
