				<title>1500 orks to beat IG</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ So I've tailored this to fight my buddies <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> army - but I'm limited by the models I have (and this is after using some proxys). Its a wee bit character heavy - although I think they all serve an important purpose, and its a little short on separate units to disperse his firepower - but I'm limited by points, and last time I ended up falling back before getting into combat because my mobs were too small.<br /> <br /> Have a look at my list & basic tactic ideas at the bottom & let me know your thoughts. It's not tested yet; usually I play 3 squads of 20 boyz, warboss, big mek, less lootas, nobs, and ard boyz in a trukk.<br /> <br /> He is fielding Yarrick & bodyguard in a Valkyrie, a command squad, a couple of squads with heavy weapons, 3 sentinels, 2 leman russes (one with plasma cannon), and a manticore. (Sometimes he mixes up with stormtroopers).   He invariably places his squads w/heavies on hills at the board edges with command squad hiding behind one; russes, sentinels, & manticore in the centre; and the full valkyrie in reserve which outflanks.<br /> <br /> <i><b>My new list:</b></i><br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> ......... [460pts]<br /> 15 Lootas<br /> 15 Kommandos w/Snikrot & 2 Burnaz<br /> <br /> FAST ATTACK ......... [210pts]<br /> 2 Deffkoptas (both with TLRL & Buzzsaw)<br /> Deffkopta (TLRL & Buzzsaw)<br /> <br /> <br /> <i><b>Idea is: </b></i><br /> <br /> - Scout the deffkoptas & kamakazi them hopefully taking out his manticore or a russ & a sentinel or two (or at least stop them firing their nasties at my footslogging boyz).<br /> - Have Ghaz, Snik, and the Kommandos pop up on his table edge and deal with the hidden command squad & heavy weapons squad.<br /> - Run the boyz up with zoggy in with one squad - hoping to get that magic second waaagh or curse to turn Yarrick into that lovely squig!<br /> - If Ghaz survives, start towards some rear armors.<br /> - Lootas looking out for the Valkyrie, but otherwise focus on second heavy weapons squad.<br /> <br /> <br /> Any thoughts?<br /> I'm still new to this - so any constructive crit will be most welcome <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Thanks!<br /> <br /> h.<br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I dont believe in tailoring lists. In a  tourny you dont have taillored list against a certain army so to play a game with a tailored list to me is like cheating.]]></description>

Zogwort will do, well next to nothing, then die.  I wish zogwort was an upgrade character and not an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> slot.  He is basically unusable.  The only real proper place for him is in a nob squad where he gets the waagh banner, he is a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> beast.  If you are hoping on any of his psychic powers doing anything useful, you will be sadly dissapointed 90% of the time.  As is everyone else.  Sticking him with a pack of 30 boyz is a huge risk, if you get an ere we go, good luck deepstriking 30 boyz without a mishap.]]></description>

I respect your opinion & kinda get what you're saying - but we're not in a toruny, and as a regular opponent we are constantly trying to tweak & tailor our tactics to beat each other & improve gameplay.... I think that's a longshot from 'cheating' which assumes one player has an unfair advantage over the other. 				<description><![CDATA[ i get what ur saying but to me the point of the game is to get better. You cant get better playing an army that you tailor a list to. You can only get better with strat if you play a generic list and see the different opitions avaliable to that list if you lose you know what to fix if you win you know what plans and strats work the best for you. If you two are just going to play a game just for the pure fact to win against each other why dont you play a card game because at the end your not gonna learn anyhting about your list. I know if i play a nid player if i take 3 vindicators, 9 landspeeder typhoons, 6 squads of 5 guys w/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span> and a few terminators to bubble wrap my army i can easily beet him but when will i ever use those models in an actual game? so your not reli forming a strategy more so ur asking what weapons with b the best at killing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>]]></description>

Yes the squig rule is cool, but trust me Zogwort is basically a worthless POS for 180? points no save what so ever and taking up an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> slot.  What's really not fun is watching all of your boyz die and having your 180 point <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> do nothing.  My opinion on Zogwort is that he should be something like Zaggstruk or snikrot-a guy you can add to say a nob or mega nob unit. <br /> <br /> If he was a "sargent" type character and costed like 80 points I would consider him, as is, there is just no justification for his codex entry except for the cool pic <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span>.  Also his metal model is FRIGGING awesome.  I dont think they make him in finecast yet.  It's too bad he completely sucks in game. Anwyway, try him out a few times.  Remember he tests at Mob Rule leadership for psychic tests. Maybe you will get lucky. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Couple of things.<br /> <br /> Big Meks get a Burna which is better than a Skorcha as you can use it as a power weapon in assault if you haven't fired it the turn before (not that you want your Big Mek assaulting...). Also, it's not Kombi so you can always use it as a burna. But that said, I wouldn't really bother unless you are going to put him in with the Nobs and use the burna from the trukk<br /> <br /> Next - the trukk. This is going to be SUPER easy to kill and with Ghazzy (if he's not with the Kommandos), the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span>, and Nobz (i.e. you hammer unit) inside it is going to be priority no 1). And even with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span> giving you a 4+ cover, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> shoot soooo much, it will get through and your nobz, ghazzy and BM <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span> and going to have to walk like everyone else. Now if you get a ramshackle into your opponent, this won't be a problem as you're across the board and in assault range, but don't rely on this as it only happens 33% of the time and even then, the direction won't go your way. Trukks work best in Spam armies (6 trukks with 11 boyz and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(107);'>PK</span>, BossP, 'eA Nob). That way, too many to shoot and 6 PowKs. Otherwise, not so hot as they have armour 10. You can also throw in Bikes, NobBs, DeffKs and Buggies in this list and really get your speed freak on. That said, I think BWs are MUCH better (14 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(35);'>FA</span> and 19 Boyz +Nob) and Nobs can take them as designated transports.<br /> <br /> I've found three separate units of 1 Deff Kopta work best. More targets to shoot at. No chance a DeffK will simply run off the board (it will die instead sure, but only after it's done something either on scout or outflank). And having three separate units means the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> player will have to shoot one more unit at them making your Boyz, Nobz and Lootas a little more survivable. I'd also make a call on whether you go with RokkitLs or BuzzSaws. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(274);'>YMMV</span>, and the option may be good, but 25 points is a lot on a unit that will die. And after you've alpha struck your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> friend, it won't work again.<br /> <br /> 30 Man Boyz mob are good fun, but agree with your friend on movement early on. Measuring each one will take WAY too much time.<br /> <br /> And lastly, Lootas are great. Get them in cover and watch your friend cry as you massacre his light armour.<br /> <br /> All up, I'd take 6 Killa Kans for 4+ cover for your boyz as they march across the board and use the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span> to give the Kans 4+ too (aka the Killa Kan wall list), but that would mean dropping either the Kommandos or Lootas (or scaling them down), But putting RokkitLs on them means you can glance Leman Russ's with 6s. Otherwise, assault with the Nobs and Pen on a 6 (ahh S9 on the charge is my friend).<br /> <br /> Good luck with it<br /> <br /> Mike]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Yup killer kanzs are great cover for the boyz.  battlewagon is more survivable for gazzy and the nobz. 20 man squads of boyz are more maneuverable and easier to get cover with.  lottas will work great against gaurd and the koptas in outflank will make them thinks twice leaving there flanks open.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Agree with the tailoring, really should just make solid lists that work well vs any army and just play those until your experienced using the different styles of orks.  <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> is easy just get your side to his side asap, punch his armor assult boys = win.  If you want a fun list that'll work vs most armies go speed freak get to your target as as you can, even if 1/2 of your mech makes it = bad day for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>ig</span>.  Ehhh tips kommandos are scrary but if he's expecting it just have hvy flamers at the rdy even if you get a mech kill off.  Bigger lists i'd say sure.  Get the boys from a to b, i'd drop all your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>hq</span>'s go for big mechs and trucks/wagons, get them rockets and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>pc</span>, your orks you dont need flamers vs <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>ig</span> just assult them to death.  Your lootas are there just either stun their armor or <br /> <br /> If you only ever play vs that 1 guy and that's it then whatever goes.  If you play a shop or random people tailoring will get you losing often or people will stop playing you.  A thought drop Ghaz and get 2 wagons or drop the boys to 20's and 3 wagon!]]></description>

Thanks for the advice! <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Played today & I won (my first official win!) 13 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(316);'>kp</span> to 7. Deffkoptas we're great killing or stopping shooting 3 out of 4 tanks 1st turn.<br /> <br /> Ghaz, Snikrot, & Kom-Krew took out command squad, a sentinel, and a heavy weapons squad... then ghaz left the squad and killed (totally dead) Yarrick!<br /> <br /> First time using <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span>, and I can see why its so awesome now! Made my boyz survive long enough to take out Yarricks body guard.<br /> <br /> Lootas in two squads we're great, took out a squad, a vendetta, and half another squad.<br /> <br /> Finally, nobz in trukk killed the other sentinels (with help from a wrekking ball!) before being killed off by reserve storm troopers.<br /> <br /> Thanks for the help folks!<br /> <br /> h.]]></description>
