I just have a quick question that I need a little help with. Viewing the new How to Paint Citadel Minatures guide I realised that it contains eight army projects , however it does not say which armies these projects are based on , would someone be able to help me / let me know any more detail on this ?

Regardless, if it's anything like the painting articles in WD this month, the techniques described will be pretty much apply base, apply wash, apply layer, apply lighter layer.

It's not that the painting is being dumbed down, it's being made simpler (which is not always bad), I personally could do for the things they talk about (while I might not use their "systems" and paints, but the instructions are always helpful as a reference.

The army projects are described in a few pages, giving step by step instructions. One example is the Dark Eldar Warrior. Stage 1 is Basecoat (it then describes the basecoats applied to each area of the model.

Blending? No, but these are not techniques for advanced users. They do talk about glazing (even though they don't deal with glazing as how it is in the "art world") which is a decently "advanced technique" when used the way "artists" do (i.e. mixing paint with an artistc medium which makes the paint transparent to an extent, extends the working life of the paint (allowing blending), and allows you to control the color and lighting far better than with normal "wet" or "dry" blending.]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/442852/4147612.page http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/442852/4147612.page GMT
