My name's Simon. I'm nearly 30, live in North London and have recently got back into wargaming. I expect my tale is quite a common one: used to collect anything I could get my hands on/ afford as a kid, then got into 40K, Necromunda and Gorkamorka, got pretty good at painting and then modelling via some art and head swaps and then gradually more complex, collected a couple of armies for 40k, then gave up as i went to uni and discovered drinking and pretending to be trendy!

Anyway, a couple of years ago my dear Dad suggested that I sort out the boxes of miniatures still living in my old room. I chucked out piles and piles of stuff, rescued a few choice bits and pieces for emotional reasons and put aside a few boxes of stuff I thought might be good enough for eBay. Little did I know until after I'd flogged all the lots that some of the stuff I chucked would have been worth a small fortune! Oops. Luckily Necromunda, my trusty old Escher gang and my hired guns were saved.

A few of my mates live down in London including my old Necromunda-buddy from the mid 90s and we have got back into 'The 'Mund' as we call it in quite a big way, much to the annoyance of the WAGs.

I'm getting back into painting and making scenery (not too big, don't want to annoy the missus too much) and hope to show off some of my stuff in the near future.

This comment might well date me, but I'm amazed by how much the internet has changed the wargames scene. The standard of painting and modelling (and scupting- unbelivable!) has increased massively since the old days of White Dwarf and visiting the Newcastle GW, so I'm hoping to pick up some dos and don'ts from the masters. My technique is still very much 'Undercoat, basecoat, shading, highlighting, fine details', which I feel might be totally obsolete by now.
