Harlequin Army (From 2nd Ed, all the way to 5th)

I was digging around in my loft and found my old Eldar Harlequin models.

Roughly 30 Troupers and all the characters on top of that.

Is there any way to build a Harlequin Army out of the codex of today?

I know there isn't a legal army, but is there a decent way of using a counts as army?

Sort of.

three maxed out squads of harlies arejust under 600 points, and you can take jetbikes as troops.

None of the HQs can really run with harlies, but you can cobble something together.

Maybe Dark Eldar can build a better force at this point?

I was thinking DE, using the Wyches on Venoms as lesser Harlies or mimes.

I found this article:

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Harlequin#.T6HlzLd5mc0

And info on Craftworld Lugganath.

The army itself looks interesting on a painting and gaming aspect.

Harlequin Army (From 2nd Ed, all the way to 5th)

Ok, I need a little help on this...

I've sorted out the Harlequin Troop Types into representations of both the DE and CWE codexs and there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

CWE have lots of tools that will make a Harlie Army survivable and make it pack a punch against armour. Downside is it doesn't have a viable transport and will compromise speed.

DE is much faster and combat oriented. Venoms are gold here, but there is little to no anti armour.

Is there any way to keep the list fluffy, but also to make it competitive?
