Personally I listened to the whole John Williams Star Wars sound track whilst at work and plan to watch the original trilogy later but not much else unfortunately?!

People rate Lucas, but I've never known why. Spielberg carried him in the Indiana Jones films, and it's no surprise that the best star wars film (Empire strikes Back) had no creative involvement from Lucas - he didn't write or direct.

It really depends on the situation. Some executive producers have more creative input than others, obviously some are just putting up money and get their credit put on the screen. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that George Lucas was a bit more active of an executive producer, especially considering he wrote the story.

Actually, I kind of doubt that. Keep in mind that Episode I came out in 1999, and Saving Private Ryan, an excellent Spielberg film, came out in 1998. Indiana Jones might not have been that good, but it came out in 2008. Yes, a lot of times that's true, but some executive producers are more hands-on than others. Yes, that's for sure.
