This applies to all armies its just I think necron armies really need that razors edge focus since its very easily muddled. The 4 scarab units are not going to do much and I've found destroyers to be ineffective in their normal variety. Heavy destroyers are much better. That said with the army list you have just make sure to not get multi-charged since everything you have will get rolled by CC specialists.

I was going to say, that's the theme here. You've two warp-troops, they can set up a fire base for your advancing shooty dudes, leaving the one back. That is one way to take care of range issues, but god, again, please - buy just one single Solar Pulse for the initial approach or an alpha strike from a shooty list will end your day.

VanPiil wrote:I was thinking of "teleporting" the two warrior squads forward, Buying a little time for the rest of my army to get across the table. I'm open for some change of units, but I would like to keep the general feel of the army. (It is not meant to be ultra competetive)

It's not a matter of being competitive (I'm not either), it's a matter of having an army that has at least a decent punch to it. Todays game is, unfortunately, all about mech and assaults. Two things that simply don't exist in what you posted.

But, first thing I would suggest is pile up the scarabs in one unit. With no spyders to replenish them, you need a bigger threat out of them and they're so mobile anyway it's not really a problem. Veiling your warriors would be a bad idea, personally, since they have rapid fire weapons you would either be setting down dangerously close to mishap range or if you did landed and within firing range you'd be assaulted the next turn almost for sure depending where you veiled to, and then they're gone plus the IC/Cryptek used to veil them.

Honestly, with that list I'd say move up the scarabs, the barge and the destroyers to present an immediate threat, keep Z with the immortals and teleport obyron somewhere where he is the most useful. Unless you drop the A. Barge for a CCB and put obyron in that so he can zoom zoom around the board, which is probably a better option. Yes I know he can't start in the vehicle, but that's not really a big deal. Beyond that, keep your warriors flanking your stalker and move up field to get a good vantage point where you can park the warriors for maximum range and take advantage of the TL feature of the stalker. All the while your scarabs are jumping around the board, hopefully not getting killed and eating some tank nom-noms. I'd suggest maybe a different cryptek as well, probably the harbinger of destruction with the immortals. Keep your destroyers at their max range to the enemy as best as you can, and keep them as spread out as possible to mitigate blast damage.

Tactic advice for my necron

I know you said you didn't want any changes to the list, but I made some minor modifications (still overall theme, just dropped a couple guys and switched out the crypteks to make a more effective use of the army's synergy)

zandrekh = 185
obyron =160
2 Harbingers of Destruction (1x Solar Pulse) = 90

15 warriors = 195
15 warriors = 195
10 immortals (tesla) = 170

triarch stalker = 150

7 scarabs = 105
4 destroyers = 160

annihalation barge = 90

Zahndrekh will be the key to the whole army. His giving certain units certain abilities will completely change their effectiveness. (the main two to keep in mind are Furious Charge and Tank Hunters).
Stick Zahndrekh and Obyron with the Immortals, have them teleport up a bit closer to lay down covering fire for the rest of your army to approach, or threaten weak units (you can always furious charge-assault something like Long Fangs to disrupt their shooting, and then ghost walk out of the combat later when the rest of your army is in position).
Stick the Harbingers in each of your Warrior units. Have them move up with the Stalker. They should be able to mow down anything it lights up for them.
Destroyers actually work really well with Stalkers. That twin linked guass cannon does amazing things to marines.

skoffs +1

Maybe even think about dropping Obyron and replacing with an Overlord with Phaeron to put with Warrior blob to make it relentless.

Use spare points for either VeilTek for immortals. Alternative is to get Orb for Phaeron then march the blob up with immortals going for different objective?

Tactic advice for my necron

hmm, beware: without the Stalker, it could change the entire dynamic of your army (for example, the effectiveness of your Destroyers might not be as great anymore without it).
Why don't you just drop the each Warriors squad down to 6 and use the points to buy a couple of Ghost Arks for them? That way you'll be able to have more protection AND still be able to have 11 shots (6 from the Warriors and 5 from the gauss arrays).
Otherwise you can split each one up into three groups of 9 and have enough points left over to get that 3rd Harbinger of Destruction.
Either is a pretty good option, you just have to decide: do you want more shots, or better protection?
