Your airbrushing is too uniform across all surfaces. Carbon scoring and exhaust doesn't do that in real life. Additionally, the surface dirt and exhaust all feel the same in most cases. I suggest using pigment powders to get that effect before you use an airbrush...or get an airbrush that can adjust to a thinner line. Iwata makes one that can go down to a damn near hair line.

Bear in mind these are commission and therefore the customer probably got what they paid for; imagine how much more time consuming it would have been to detail each vehicle individually like that.
