				<title>Necrons - 1000pts </title>
				<description><![CDATA[ This is my 1000pts list for a mini tournament I'm having with some friends at the weekend, please give me some tips and ideas because I'm fed up of losing to them! <br /> <br /> Overlord with Warscythe on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(547);'>CCB</span> <br /> Harbringer of despair with staff and VoD <br /> <br /> 5 Immortals with tesla<br /> 5 Immortlas with tesla<br /> 10 Immortals with tesla<br /> <br /> 5 Deathmarks (Cryptek here)<br /> <br /> 3 Canoptek Scarabs <br /> 2 Spyders (Fabricator Claw Array)<br /> <br /> 2 Annhiliation Barges <br /> <br /> Total: 1010pts<br /> <br /> The plan is to have the overlord and scarabs marching up the middle demolishing his vehicles (hopefully) and the Annhiliation barges to mop up what's left. The deathmarks will deal with that one nasty unit every army has (again hopefully) and then the Immortals bringing up the rear to claim objectives and pick up theses survivors.<br /> <br /> <br /> I also need to drop 10 pts somewhere, all comments are appreciated. <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Maybe drop the Deathmarks and add in another Spyder, I doubt that 2 is going to be enough to get that scarab squad to a strength where it would be awesomely useful. <br /> <br /> I'd probably try and get a Cryptek with a Pulse in there as well, just to give them some protection whilst spawning scarabs.<br /> <br /> Hope this is useful. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Those Scarabs are going to be offered up as free kill points, man (anything less than 6 is in danger of getting immediately wiped out).<br /> Plus, if you were planning on farming them with only 2 Spyders, after two game turns you would only have... 7 Scarabs.<br /> ...<br /> why don't you just drop the Spyders and GET more Scarabs to begin with? <br /> [protip: Scarab Farm is not a very effective tactic in low point games].<br /> <br /> I am digging the use of all your Barges, though. Most armies can't handle that degree of armor and damage output at 1000 points.<br /> And I say keep the Death&Despair squad. They've always done well by me (you just have to consider them disposable. They pop in, kill a tough enemy unit, job done. If they can serve some further purpose, props to them. If not, no big deal, they did what they were supposed to do).<br /> <br /> I do agree you could do with a solar pulse, though.<br /> hmm...]]></description>

And I've been told that Spyders are extremely durable at 1000pts thanks to high toughness and wound allocation but I can see how the scarabs would be free points here, would it be a good idea to drop some immortals and boost up the scarab squad?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ 3 Scarabs are going to get wiped so fast I doubt they will be on the board for more than two turns. Like what everyone else said, you need more of them to be effective. Running 3 annihlation barges and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(547);'>CCB</span> might be a good idea.<br /> <br /> The only good thing about having a low number of scarabs is they make a good screen for your spyders to come up and munch on some tanks/soldiers.]]></description>

Generally, opponents are going to have a hard time getting through night fighting and a 3+ cover save in order to wipe out the squad.</div></blockquote> Actually, I'll agree with the Spyders being a great punch for low games, but if the idea had been to get a lot of Scarabs on the table after a couple turns of night fight protection, but the person only started with 3-4 Scarabs in an army with only 2-3 Spyders... it's usually more effective to just bring more Scarabs in the first place (as in, 6+ bases, so you actually end up with a substantial amount by turn two, rather than merely 7 total)]]></description>
