They don't worship Chaos one bit, seriously if they deal with the other powers then it's simply to achieve their own deranged goals.

lunarman wrote:Appeal? The DE don't worship slaanesh. I mean, the things the Dark Eldar do are more or less the things that created Slaanesh in the first place, so in a way they are "worshiping" by feeding Slaanesh. Slaanesh isn't appealing to the DE, it's the DE who are appealing to Slaanesh. Not only are they Eldar souls, they're tasty tasty eldar souls steeped in the most exquisite pain and torture and wicked pleasure, just like the old days.

So while Craftworld Eldar avoid the predations of Slaanesh by resisting all temptation and excess, Dark Eldar souls are drawn to him/her like a magnet, even in the between-space of the Webway. They don't worship, their souls are just leached away bit by bit just because of who they are.

Dark elder and khorne tzneench and nurgle

I was under the impression that it was the excess and the psychic levels of the Ancient Eldar that created slannesh. While the Craftworld Eldar broke their ways, the Dark Eldar simply cut off themselves from their psychic powers. That way neither can give power to Slaanesh. Their souls are leached because they are Eldar. They don't die like normal eldar do and since they don't use soul stones they have to find another way to avoid slaanesh when they die, thus they don't plan on dying.

Dark elder and khorne tzneench and nurgle

Those Eldar who are steeped in the Lore of the Ruinous Powers are aware of the others, but ALL Eldar know of She who Thirsts. It was the debauchery of the Eldar Race that created the Warp Storms that fragmented the Imperium as the knots and eddies of perverted energy in the warp created by that perverted race began to coalesce into the Prince of Pleasure. The Dark Eldar actually represent the richest, most powerful, and most depraved of that ancient race who had enough resources to afford to set up estates within the Webway and examine excesses too extreme even for the depravity of the Eldar during those times. When Slaanesh's orgasmic birth tore a hole in the Materium and consumed whole the central worlds of the Eldar, the Dark Eldar remained uneffected, safe and sound in their little kingdom. As such, they are UTTERLY unrepentant for their activities, since their own little private paradises were untouched clearly the Doom was something that happened to other people.

The Craftworld Eldar were merchants who plied their goods around the galaxy, coming back to the core worlds every century or two to resupply. As such, they were a little behind the times in the latest fads, and so were able to see the decline of the race in stages, where those who remained behined were a part of the decline and only saw it gradually, growing used to each new exploration of depravity as a normal extention of the last.

All Eldar live in terror of their end, knowing that She who Thirsts lurks, waiting for them, desiring their consumption more than any other thing in the galaxy. The Craftworld Eldar stave this off by wearing psychicly attuned soulstones on their person, which allow their souls to be captured by this. Should an Eldar's stone be damaged after internment, or before they die and they are killed before they get another, their soul is instantly consumed on death by She who Thirsts. Sadly, the only source of new stones is the Crone worlds... those benighted and acursed homeworlds of the Eldar now trapped in the Eye of Terror. Thus, the Craftworld Eldar can't renew their race even if they wanted to, as once their (admittedly long if not interrupted by war or murder) lives are spent, their souls are consumed.

The Dark Eldar survive by the suffering of others, and such joys keep them whole. Though never explained in the fluff, it is apparently this hatred of others and love of torment that keeps their souls attached to their flesh until a haemonculus can regenerate them with the pain of others.

Now, all that means is that Slaanesh is their first concern for all types of Eldar (Exodite as well) but for Dark Eldar especially all of their acts serve the Chaos Gods. Nurgle, in the plagues and poisons they utilize, Khorne, in the endless wars they wage on each other and in Realspace, and of course Tzeentch, for the myriad scheming amongst the Archons that Vect endorses to keep his grip on power. Because of their potent psychic signature in the warp (because of their emotions, not because of actual ability) their actions feed the Chaos Gods, but virtually no DE actually worship or interact with the Ruinous powers. They're too self absorbed and self serving to prostrate themselves before another. At least not for longer than it takes to conquer that person themselves.

In the lore Isha, one of the last remaining Eldar Gods, has been taken by Nurgle, though how well known this information is is not known to me.

TL;DR The learned are aware of the others, but mostly the Dark Eldar are either preoccupied with dodging Slaanesh or their own matters to give a hoot in hell about the Dark Gods.

There are rare occurrences of Dark Eldar being corrupted by actual Ruinous Powers. I do remember reading in some Black Templars lore that there was actually a Slaanesh work-shipping DE Warband which blew my mind (why I remember it). Also, they DE do get consumed by Slaanesh when they die, just drinking souls gives them the ability to not die from old age.
