That being said, it seems like the expansions on the battleboxes are pretty useful. PP here from work. I haven't played since MkI but my girlfriend is really interested in Scryah and Everblight models. So getting one of those deals and having the latest version of the rules could be really handy.

As far as I can judge, all bundles seem very solid. I'm not an authority on Scyrah, but the package looks great ; mage hunters are a staple of the faction, the assassin is a bargain and a half, the Phoenix is a potent jack and the Banshee seems good as well. Sentinels will give you armoured hard hitting infantry (with the UA) A solo or two like the assassin, or Eiryss. Aiyanna and Holt could be a good purchase as well. That way they get people that want to start a new army too.

I'm new to Warmachine and I would have bought the army deal but I purchased the 2 player box instead.

There is only a finite amount of rule books ones needs.
