Help a newbie with his Eldar army

I recently came into the extended minis collections of several friends who no longer feel they have appropriate garage space for their goodies (read: they got married/have young kids). Some of this stuff hasn’t been looked at in ages (I think one of them was explaining to me he last played second edition!), and a fair bit is quite nicely painted, and the rest I can muddle through.

But I’ve never played. I’m looking to get ahold of the 5th edition rules (there’s a new edition coming out soon, right? That’s probably good for me!) and codexes. I just signed up here today, and I turn to you, experienced 40K players, for help. I should add that I’ll be playing casual games with friends, and that we’re not WYSIWYG type guys. I can imagine proxying a little here and there, but I won’t be using the hellhound as a squad of catachan jungle dudes, for example. I also don't imagine playing massive games - probably not much more than a half dozen or a bit more units... (easy to say now...!)

And this is my Eldar army. Can you point me to any good beginner Eldar threads out there? Avoiding technical jargon and slang, I’d love to learn what these guys are all about. And I ask you, dear reader, what are some of your favorite Eldar units? Here’s what I currently own. If you had these figures what, in your vast treasure trove of experience and knowledge, would you consider buying next? Is this army ready for battle, or is there a 5th edition must-have unit that you’d consider adding? My hands-down favorite things of the 40K universe are those groovy Eldar grav tanks (falcons, fire prisms, & wave serpents). Are they worth fielding?

1 squad of Guardians
1 squad of Harlequins (lots of ‘em, there might be two squads. from Rogue Trader days. They’re Tiiiiny!)
4 Howling Banshees. Should I get more?
6 Fire Dragons. Should I get more?
1 Harlequin jetbike (goofy model from the Rogue Trader days, but will do as a good proxy for other jetbikes)
2 warwalkers
1 wraithlord missing his !#$! arms. Gotta sort that one out.
Several death jesters, or old harlequin figs that look an awful lot like this guy. Or maybe they’re Dire Avengers?
2 dark reapers. Should I get more?
5 tripods that I think later became the grav-heavy weapons platforms that cruise along with the Guardians, no? Those things move, right? I gotta sort out the bases, then.
2 Farseer/warlock guys
A few Rogue Trader personalities that could do as leaders/heros/command troops in a pinch

Go on youtube... watch Fritz 40k (wayofsaimhann), and eldarcorsair.... check out 40konline.com - irisado gives good advice and i think there are some eldar specific tactica there. also Joe from miniwargaming.com does well with his eldar.

I hve played Eldar since those rogue trader models were new, so I love them. Good luck, as my precious space elves take some finesse and skill to pull out the wins... but it's so worth it.

dont worry so much about making "netlists" - find one that matches your style.

I just love how these suckers look. I hear the 5th edition Eldar can be a bit tough to play with, but I'll check out all those recommendations of yours, thanks.

Get a box of banshees to max out your squad. Your death jesters sound like dark reapers or avengers. The guardian defenders carry shuriken cannons, scatter lasers, EML's and bright lances. Support weapons are D cannons, vibro cannons and shadow weavers.. Check pictures in the codex for reference.

Serpents are stupid good. Field as many models as you can in these. Exception being dark reapers, who should just start the game in cover.

Get some serpents
