As I've recently been having guitar lessons (still a novice at the moment), I've been looking for a replacement for my Squier Stratocaster. I came across a guitar my father had bought for about £500-600, about 7-8 years ago from a shop which has since closed down. I've trawled through websites trying to identify it, but to no avail. No idea on the specific model, but it's a Gibson, made in the US, and from running the serial number through various websites, it's dated from anywhere between 1964-1975

If you can see from the photos, it's pretty worn on places, especially the first 5 frets. The pickups however, appear to be in a much better condition than the rest. I don't know if this is just because they wouldn't experience much wear and tear, or wherever they've been replaced/modified over the years.

Yes it's a bolt-on neck. Either way, the L6-S looks the most similar out of all the ones I've looked at online.

If you want to find out for certain what year it was made, and other fine details. You can contact Gibson with these same pictures, and they will look it up with the number stamped on the back of the headstock.

With this in mind now it's just down to getting a more accurate method of finding the precise year in which it was built. As the serial number is 250002 I'm thinking it could be #002 out of the entire batch. Can anyone else shead some light on this?
