My sandy wasteland terrain set W.I.P. (made a few obstacles/cover things)

I found some cardboard laying around and I could not be bothered to throw it out... so I made it into a terrain build
It is a ruined building as are so very common in the 40k era. This is my first "proper" build, aside from some single layer cardboard ruined building corners.
The walls and floor are double layered cardboard, the tiles are just thin card cut into rectangles and the drainage pipe on the side is made from a plastic coat hanger. Then there is loads of rubble I cut from double cardboard and the tile card as well as some random bits of rubble.
I made the collapsed upper floor still hang together in one spot so troops can get up there and take position in cover to one side
C&C appeciated

Front

Left

Rear

Right

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I´ve already gone ahead and primed it and added some strips of card to the walls which gives them a little more depth and character.
Also- some boyz for scale.

Very nice and simple but you should make the pipe on the side more jagged, if it is suppose to look like the remenants of a gutter

Thats pretty cool man, I like the ramp up to the 2nd level, held on by the concrete reinforcements. And the Lego pieces

As a tip, i would suggest using a textured paint if you had any to give the cardboard some texture. Strips of card were a good idea.

Cant wait to see it painted =)

Terrain build W.I.P. Ruined building

Thanks for the comments guys

Jensvejmand- I think I´ll try and take a file to the pipe and make it look more damaged and worn as you suggested.

Two Spartan- Yes I´will either take textured paint or stipple the walls to get some texture

I´ll update later today most likely

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Small update, I´ve laid down some base color for the sand and rubble and am currently texturing the walls. I´ve gone for a sand mix for the outer walls and just flat for the inner walls. The rubble then will be a mix of sanded outer wall fragments and plain flat inner wall fragments, also all the tiles and fragments will be the same color so it should end up looking pretty nice I hope

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Allright, so I have painted the outer walls a sand texture black and drybrushed with grey.
I painted the inner walls a rather light grey and the tiles white.
I will need to go another round on the tiles to get a better fill but this is starting to look like something I think
Comments so far have been helpful and are always welcome

Top view, tiles, rubble and stuff

Close up on outer corner and in the back you can see the grey inner wall

Then a straight on view on the outer wall, now textured and not so boring as before

Re:Ruined building W.I.P. (outer wall textured and inner walls and tiles painted...)

Small update: I did a second layer of white on the tiles and got a decent enough fill, don´t know if it shows on the pic but it looks way better irl.
Also I painted the strips on the walls white to better pick up whatever color I decide to do them. Suggestions welcome
Next I´ll touch up the sand and some spots where paint went astray and pick out the various bits scattered around and then some finishing touches

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Allright now, It was raining today so I din´t leave the house and instead sat at my desk for I think 6 or 7 hours straight and finished my Ruined Building project
So I painted the metals silver, did the wall strips white, touched up the sand where I had painted over it, dry-brushed the sand, gave all the whites greys and silvers a black wash and voila! It is finished (unless clever finishing touches pop up)
Hope you like

Ruined building W.I.P. (finished! unless you have ant clever ideas for finishing touches:) )

I have decided to cover the entire outer rim of the board with sand as to blend into the theme I´ll be making this terrain set be a part of.
I have also made eight rubble pile / cover things on 5x10cm bases to act as obstacles and of course as an ork player I sure do love my 4+ cover saving throws
I made those out of fore-mentioned 5x10cm masonite wood squares with watered pva dipped tissue paper to make small mounds, stuck a few random bits on and sprinkled with sand. I did that all in one go so the whole piece would dry together and also because I am very impatient and always try and get as much done in each sitting as possible. So that dried out during the night and now the black base coat is drying and I´ll paint them all up this evening.
I´ll post pics soon...

Re:Ruined building W.I.P. (made a few obstacles/cover things)

So I´ve gone and fetched the rubble things I made yesterday and will proceed to paint them, just thought I´d put up pics of them primed

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I painted the sand three layers of brown, then touched up the blacks in various places as can be seen on the pic below and then proceeded to paint the metalwork silver followed by a black wash, then some brown and reddish-brown stippling to represent rust. For the sake of getting the pieces into play asap I decided the tank remnants were from a black tank but the next set I make will have some more color to it.
Hope you like

Before and after re-touch

And the whole set ready and painted

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I might also add, the four pieces in the front can actually be used as cover while the four in the back are really just obstacles.
