Man-O-War Demo Corp (test model)

I have always loved how the MOW looked but I could never justify buying them because they are not really that good but now I just don't care I'll find a way to make them work (not too bad with evlad). Before I went and painted my whole demo corp I first painted a complete model to test the scheme I was going for. I have to say I am extremely happy with how it turned out. I used my airbrush for most of the model as I wanted to get better at using it, I normally did highlighting and shading with a brush. I also attempted using oil washes for the first time and I am sold on them. Easy to do and the finish product looks much better IMO. Also created some of my own weathering pigments using pastels.

Here it is

Here is the tutorial I used for the oil washes. I also frequent Awesomepaintjobs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP9cT...ature=g-user-u

Nice work on the lightning effects.
Also if you do every model with a number on the shoulder pad that's awesome, because it will be super easy to keep track of damage.
I also like the battle damage its suttle, but nice.

Great work on the OSL. I love how subtle it is....some painters paint OSL around the lens as if the figure has flashlights for eyes....but this has just the right amount of glow. The green armor with the red shoulders is a real nice contrast for this model as well. Great work!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am happy with how the OSL turned out. I was really unsure about doing it in the first place but I am glad I did.

I am currently painting the rest of my unit. and I am anout 30-40% done. They are all numbered as well

I have a thing about the colour red. I love it but I never really seem to use much of it
