Male(penis, testes)
Female(vagina, ovaries, breasts)
Hermaphrodite with male genitalia(often have ovaries in place of testes)

There are only 2 sexes, male and female. Regardless of gender, pretty much everyone identifies as either male or female. 1.) People post their sexuality and get asked offensive questions or maybe harassed. Probably won't happen, but it could. Net result: negative
2.) People post their sexuality and get treated exactly the same as before. Net result: none.

In general, the reason for gay institutions to to be explicitly overt is to personalize their existances, humanize and normalize themselves, right? Sure, and it's a good idea, and works. The problem is on a site like Dakka you have a relatively young audience, and to the people in this demographic, being LGBT is already a "normal" choice - there are no inroads to be made here. I work at a helpdesk of people where the average age is between 22 and 35 or so, and there are at least 4 gay guys, 2 lesbians, and 3 transwomen. And this is in Iowa, man. This is a war that's been won (or at the very least, the opposing squads are broken and there is no morale check in sight). The older conservatives who are against gay rights are fairly few here, and because they are older are unlikely to be convinced by anything you might say.

If you are post op TG/TV whatever, say you were originally a male and changed over to female. Are you considered gay, even though you can't have the gay buttsecks? If you have lady parts, and have sex with men, wouldn't that be heterosexuality? Arguably the only remaining male part of your body would be your brain which can't be changed in the same way as external features.
So you may still have the libido of a male, while identifying as female both mentally and physically.

I had a friend years ago whose brother changed over to female. He did hormone therapy and had several surgeries to add breasts and reshape his naughty bits. I hung out with "him" a few times, and for all intents and purposes, he still acted like a guy. The only thing feminine about him was his body. He then had a girlfriend, and claimed to be a lesbian.

This caught my interest as I thought it strange to want to be female, but still feel attracted to women, essentially making him a male lesbian originally. Hell, I did this once in college too-my GF thought it would be cute, and I was getting sex out of it, so it was worth it to wear her bra and tight t-shirt for a bit. Crossdress in exchange for some hetero sex afterwards with a gorgeous, well endowed brunette who is a freak in the sack? Not a hard question.
