Looking for help on Storm Eagle assembly

Hello, first time posting here.

I just got back from Games Day US (had a blast) and picked up a Storm Eagle from Forge World.

Has anyone put this beastie together before? This thing looks like a mess of warped resin as it stands!

Any tips and advice is most welcome, and thanks in advance!!!

A lot of hot water, perseverance and zip strips. the kit is a pile of poor quality poo that admittedly looks great once together, like most FW kits then.

pro tip:

when putting together the fuselage, the first page of the instructions makes it look like you put the sides and bottom together and then after that's done you put on the plastic part on the top from the storm raven. I'm afraid you'll have to put it on at the same time with your third hand. If it isn't put in between the sides of the fuselage while those are going together with glue etc and drying it will sit on top and you'll have to greenstuff the gaps.

The above poster is right about having reshape pieces which are curved, you'll have to do this a lot. I found when I built the front part of the wing (the part which is resin which sits on top of the fuselage) were different sizes so I had decide where I wanted the gaps to be and fill them with greenstuff. for example if they sat well when connecting to the fuselage the back of them wouldn't connect well to the section with the engines. So I decided to greenstuff that. also the edge which connects to the fuselage wasn't straight on one of them.

The struts for the missile pods which sit on the top will probably be miscast so I cut them to an equal length (though one of the struts still had the base buggered) and greenstuffed some more.

beware of the second set of wings (which look like drop pod support beams) One of mine is still curvy but it looked straight when I was gluing it. de-curve everything! My method of this is boiling water dipping the part (be bloody careful, the resin will flop about like a wet noodle) then as it hangs and goes straight, immerse it in ice water which you have put a tonne of salt in to make it even colder. faster it sets the better.

Yeah as has been mentioned their a pain to build but well worth it when they are finaly together.

i ended up bending the hull in to the rough shape using ho twater and then, putting the Hull i.e. the two side peices the bottom and 2 top peices together with small amounts of supreglue then placing the whole thing back into the water bath with elasic bands to try shape it together.

i also had problems with engine pods in that the cuttout that allow it to fir together doth take the "fuel line" on the top into acount, i ended up using a dremmel to creat my ow cutouts

I'm enlisting a bit of fellow gamer help locally to put it all together, so we might have a hot bucket of water on standby!

Thanks guys!!!
