Traitor Titan Legions....

Question regarding the Titan Legions, is there any background or fluff that says anything about which titan legion, or members of, supported the World Eaters expeditionary fleets during the great crusade? Or any other Legion for that matter, I know the Legio Mortis primarily supported the Luna Wolves, but I can't find any other specific mentions of which Titan Legions supported which Astartes Legions.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Seriously? No one in the vastness of Dakka?

You may just have to wait for a world eaters HH book. Perhaps try looking for the old 1st war of armageddon (spelling, I know) army write up (if they had one, I know they did for the 3rd...) and it may list some titan legion? Or maybe not, if Angron rocked up with just daemons (I can't quite remember). Anyway, apart from a book telling you the answer (which doesn't exist yet), and a forces list (which may not exist either) I have no real ideas. Sorry

The traitor titans at the 1st Armageddon were, according to the old GW boardgame, the Death's Heads - theirs was the only 'undivided' piece which could stack any power. Sadly, the titan legions have received comparably little exploration in the fluff (unsurprisingly, since GW aren't especially interested in selling titan models), and the traitors from their ranks even less.

Fantasy Flight's Horus Heresy game assigns one of the four titan units available to the traitor player to Khorne, but fails to name them. This may, of course, be a gameplay convenience, but it could be taken to mean that the game was written in the assumption that one of either the Flaming Skulls, Fire Masters, Storm Lords or Death's Heads (not named in the game itself, but placed by other sources at the siege) were followers of Khorne, and might thus be presumed to have been the legion who fought alongside the World Eaters in the crusade.

This is, however, exceedingly tenuous...

Legio Mortis supported Horus when he virus bombed Istvann III. They also supported him when he attacked Earth. They also supported him before the Heresy and had been loyal to him long before the Heresy started. I'm sure they were in many fleets because they fought in hundreds of battles before the Heresy began.

I am not sure if they named a Traitor Titan legion in that....

I know there was 2 Imperial legions. The Temptest... and, Invicta, I think. I have to talk to my friend to see what he wants done with them. He is going to enter 2 titan in to a painting/ modeling competition to see if he can take top prize. I think he is nuts... but he had the money, the good painting skills, and me to say "go for it".
