GW decides that the Imperials build enough strength from destroying WAAAGHHS , Hive Fleets ect. to launch a Massive counter attack to retake the Cadian Gate from the forces of Chaos , it could be similar to the last one where we enetered our results online and it tallied up what we have done , if the Imperials get to at least a 6.5% advantage over Chaos they can ( by online vote ) retake a particular planet from the forces of CHaos , but this would also lead to CHaos playing defensive and being able to loose worlds as opposed to the Imperials last time ....... Eh? Destroying Waaaghs and Hive Fleets will make the Imperium stronger? Firstly, this isn't Warcraft; the Imperium can't just kill some other stuff to get XP and level up before taking on the Traitor Legions. Moreover, the next codex to be released will be Chaos Marines, if GW chose to expand upon the events of the 13th Black Crusade, it's unlikely to be to the Imperium's benefit, as a book describing how the followers of the Ruinous Powers sucked and died is unlikely to appeal to players. Only if the battlefleet is still able to fight. Regardless, it might matter little how many reinforcements the Imperium could theoreticaly muster, the Cadian gate is currently engulfed in warpstorms

The imperium got tabled across virtually every vital sector with exception of belis Corona I think.

6E fluff seems to present Armageddon and the Cadian Gate as "permanent" warzones in that the war is meant to be ongoing - which will probably never change, given GW's reluctance to move the timeline forward beyond M41. For Armageddon, this is not surprising, as the campaign end as well as the Codex have already suggested that it will take the Imperium several decades to fully secure the system. For the 13th Black Crusade, however, it seems the writers have rolled back the time a bit - to a point where the war did not even start in earnest. Ya think? The impression I got was not complete victory by Chaos, just over the gates in massive numbers, the Black Crusade of them all... they dont have to roll through system after system.. Granted, still leaves some room for interpretation, but on the other hand it really doesn't sound as if things would have started to "get real" yet - just that they are about to. I can understand that you'd want a chance to fight in an event that dictates fluff (sucks I wasn't playing when chaos was bending loyalists over posts) but still there is a big chance chaos could win again and I don't think GW would be able to stomach that.
