In 40K there's power in belief, which in theory could explains acts of the Emperor. Now, with regards to the OP.... they call him the God-Emperor for a reason. Trillions of people feed his psychic might with their faith. The Sisters of Battle are amongst the *most* faithful of his servants, and it is from their ranks that the Living Saints come.
