The plan is to have the tervigons, termagaunts and hive guard begin on the board, with the trygons and the flyrant deep striking. The idea is that 3 monstrous creatures appear right next to you while part of your heavy weapons is now engaged by Ymgarl. 1 round of firing should leave enough of the monstrous creatures left to do some significant damage. You get more reliable shooting the turn you come in. The Spore Pod is a denial unit (so you can leave it near an objective to contest). The spore pod can glance AV12 vehicles on its own. Carnifex can ID opponents without having to smash. More attacks on a LR at Str 9 (better chance to glance/pen).

Sure you're giving up WS5 and re-rolls to hit plus two wounds, but if you play it right the spore can crack open a Chimera and the Carnifex can shoot/kill the contents on one turn. Then Shoot assault something else the next turn.
