[Dark Eldar] Most efficient Assault allies?

Hey all,

Before I start, let me say I chose my army comp for as much story and aesthetics as combat efficiency. I made this as a sort of Glass Cannon army with a little oomph behind it. Here's my basic list at 1500 points, without listing every single upgrade;

HQ
Archon
Court w/ 3x Sslyth, 1x Lhamaen, 1x Medusae, 1x Ur-Ghul

Elites
5x Incubi w/ Raider
10x Trueborn, lots of hurty shooty weapons

Troops
10x Warriors w/ Raider
10x Warriors w/ Raider

Fast Attack
5x Scourges

Heavy Support
2x Cronos
1x Talos

May not be the best competitive tourny list, but it's what I have and I like it.

BUT, besides my most badass Archon & Incubi, I'm at a loss of Assault Units. SO I decided to hire some mercenaries for my Kabal and narrowed the selection, but I wanted some opinions from the more advanced players. Note, all of these were chosen for their effectiveness AS WELL AS the story for integrating them into my Kabal.

Eldar
Eldar would bring a nice Psycher to the mix which would be most welcome. Along with my Farseer, I could add as few Guardians as possible(to keep their point cost down!), then get as many Howling Banshees as I could. Could also round it off with a Fire Prism for a proper tank(DE lack tanks, as badass as Talos looks!)

Tau
Have a cool idea for a melee based Tau army, using Kroot for the bulk and a good, solid character. Maybe add a few Stealth Teams for the sex appeal!

Orks
Ah, Orks; mean, green, amusing, and Weirdboys make any game exceptionally humorous. Love 'em to death! Anyways, here I would get a Warphead HQ, for the lulz, then have a mob of 'ard Boys and a mob of Nobz with a Painboy attached, giving them FNP with 2 wounds and 'eavy armor. /shudder!

Chaos Space Marines
Adding them in because I think they have great flavor. Probably go with Nurgle theme, 'cause Papa Nurgle is bauss! Anyways, this choice is PURELY AESTHETIC BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW CHAOS MARINES WORK! Enlighten if they're a good choice ^_^

Thanks, thanks!

EDIT

What I'm also willing to do is pair them with a different army NOT listed, because I can always use that armies stats and units abilities/stats and then make my own fluff. For instance, even if I use Eldar, I might just make their story that of "Wild" Exodites, not Craftworld Eldar, and just use their units. So if you think SM, or SOB, or whathaveyou are better, say so pease!

[Dark Eldar] Most efficient Assault allies?

Given that we've already established that it's not going to be tournament standard, I'm going to look far less at the effectiveness of each of the options and look at the background and how they'd fit your army, as these are probably the main objectives: As long as you're not throwing tau fire warriors into assault you're probably going to make it work to some degree in friendly games. Have a look at the effectiveness later if you want, but there are things to tidy up with your DE before you start worrying too much about a small group of allies.

Eldar: These fit remarkably well with the DE in fluff despite what some people say: there are many times when they have a shared goal and work together very well to achieve it. And as for exodites, I'd reccomend having a looks at forge world corsairs, if only for making the eldar look more pirate-y. As for the tabletop, psykers can be good for helping the DE to work well, and there's certainly some reasonable stuff for throwing into assault although banshees only do the same job as incubi so I'd reccomend something else, possibly striking scorpions. Probably one of the best options.

Tau: Not sure about the kroot army here for a few reasons. Firstly, you need a crisis commander and a squad of fire warriors as both of these are 1+, that leaves you some stuff that won't fit into your army and then one squad of kroot to walk out and get slaughtered. Even if you could do a kroot army, the background would be painful to read, if there's a few tau with them. DE could possibly work well as an ally for tau, but I'm not convinced on it working the other way round.

Orks: I can see this working well. A few battlewagons or trukks would actually work quite well alongside the raiders, while the fluff is simple: Some orks either tricked into working with the DE or mindwiped to work with them. They'd basically do the same job as the haemonculus covens, TBH.

Chaos Space Marines: Eh, could work. Nurgle marines aren't known for assaulty-ness or, for that matter, speed which is one of the DE's great specialities. That, and Chaos aren't great friends with any eldar, although Nurgle's fine. So long as She Who Thirsts isn't involved, fine by me although there could be better choices out there.

Imperium: This is basically all the others that you mentioned could be used if suggested. And no, I'm not sure it would work. Generally they aren't great on assault troops unless you choose GK, in which case the fluff would be a stretch. Not my reccomendation.

So basically, Orks or Eldar are good choices, there's some other reasonable ones out there, and don't go with Slaanesh whatever you do.

Re:[Dark Eldar] Most efficient Assault allies?

Are you honestly telling me that you can't see ONE assault option in DE codex that is playable?

Grotesques - 4 of them on a raider with an IC, throw in a haemy if you can. There you have it 12 wounds T5(majority, this would reduce the amount of wounds you take from average S4 hits) unit with FNP and FC from the get go, pay for aberration and you now have 2 challenge dummies so your IC can do all the damage to the core unit while the dummies can hold the challenger at bay for at least 2 turns. Also, S5/6 hits means they can do a reasonable amount of wounds with just 4 of them.

Beastmasters - The current DE favourite assault unit, for under 200pt, you can get a highly mobile assault unit that can do 6 rending attacks per razorwing flock, and khymerae are low cost 4++ model, who strike at S4, with careful wounds allocation, you should be able to lose minimum amount of model on your way to your enemy.

Harlequins - Not even gonna go there... even without the whole farseer thing to boost it to the "Harliestar" status, they're still an amazing HQ escort assault unit on their own. *I'm using Eldar FAQ'd harlequins because I believe that's their intended 6th ed harlequin for both side!* They get stealth & shrouded, so in open space, they're running with 4+ cover save, throw them behind walls/terrain as you advance and a 2+ cover save wouldn't be impossible to achieve. And again, they can do masses of rending attacks, the only thing for us that could deal with TEQ in CC.

I won't go through all of our assault units one by one, but you should get the general idea.

If you want to go allies though, go for it, p_gray99 has done all the good writing so I'm not gonna repeat. Remember though, all but eldar are desperate allies for DE, so you're looking at paying almost 500pt for a detachment that could potentially slow you down, and while not adding more scoring unit to your list, means you would have to take less.

EDIT:

Lastly... "TANKS"!? You're playing the fastest army(well, faster by ever so slightly this ed ), and you're complaining about the lack of slow moving lumbering chunk of metal?! We're in the future, for crying out loud! We have hoverboat that can fire ALL the darklights after moving cruising! And you're telling me you still miss those metal snails?!

For the tau any way if your going to do kroot unless 6th has changed things more than i know you'll need the kroot hounds to make them useful, the low ini and no armor means your kroot will get slaughtered, while the ini 5 hounds with a good number of attack and str makes them effective after the kroot meat shield goes away.

As for fluff it's actually extremely easy if you read the codex, Just call your army part of Urien's force that allied with the tau before the inevitable back stab. the codex gives you that one easy.

Well, DE is a very fast but fragile army.
I'd go for allies that can soak up wounds and in this way reduces the incoming fire to your main force.

Wracks btw make excelent combat troops these days. If you dont want wyches for their look, just make up some kabalite warriors with pistol and ccw and use the wych rules. I do and they look great.

As for allies I go for Eldar.
A farseer or better eldrad is just too good to pass up. I usually use telepathy because I think it is the most fun not nessisarilly the best lore.
For troops I take some rangers to camp a home objective. 5-6 of them can hopefully take out a flamers or a meltagun before it does too much damage.
For elites, forget about howling banshees and scorpians. Take Fire Dragons. They are so much cheaper and better than trueborn it is kind of funny. You will have to overpay for a wave serpant to transport them around but no matter. The increased armor and firepower(str6 spam) make them a nice addition to DE in one or twos.
I dont take heavy support, and I wouldnt reccommend it for other DE players either.
FA warwalkers are king. More str6 spam again making DE so much better. adding 3 more cheap AV10 vehicles also makes your armor saturation that much better.
