Geek Nation Tours Releases AdeptiCon 2013 Tour

Hey Hey!

I thought I would let you know that Geek Nation Tours has officially released its 2013 Adepticon Tour...

You can see the full details at: http://www.geeknationtours.com/index.php?pageid=31&tourid=10

and you can secure a spot with no money down at: http://www.geeknationtours.com/index.php?pageid=4

Further you can contact me anytime at: headgeek@geeknationtours.com

I have added the tour description below for ease....

Geek Nation Tours is happy to present our tour to the world’s largest tabletop wargaming tournament – AdeptiCon. AdeptiCon has a multitude of gaming experiences for the discriminating wargamer. AdeptiCon offers tournaments using a variety of different wargaming systems, a huge amount of seminars and shopping too. It is a spectacle to be seen and experienced. Game with the very best, meet friends from around the world, and take part in the very best in gaming and painting seminars.

Geek Nation Tours was the first to bring you guaranteed AdeptiCon registration. We offered those that hop on the tour the opportunity to pre-register before the general public. This year is no exception - book prior to October 31st 2012 and you will be able to pre-register for all events in advance to them going public. Don’t come half way across the world only to have the spots you wanted disappear...

In addition to pre-public registration last year Geek Nation Tours gave you AdeptiCon’s Very Important Gamer package also before the public was even offered it (it also sold out in days last year). This year is no exception! The package includes Preferred Check-in, an AdeptiCon T-shirt, and an AdeptiCon glass – but most importantly you will get ½ hour advanced early entry to the Vender’s Hall. Thats right! No waiting for hours in the Forge World line in 2013. If you want your resin you will be able to get it. Geek Nation Tours is trying its best to help all our international clients. Don’t have access to all the cool gaming venders at home? Come join us!

This year we have included both the VIG and Regular Adepitcon weekend pass in the tour price. Therefore all you need worry about is what tourniments and seminars you will attend. We love making it easier for our tour participants!

You want more? Geek Nation Tours will be again giving away one "Go" Battlefoam bag, and Teras (your Geek Nation Tours representative) will even open his wallet for one lucky tour participant to do some shopping in the vendor hall...$150.00 for your shopping pleasure... See below for details....

We also managed to pull together a few meals for you. The day you arrive we will be headed off to the Tilted Kilt - always a gamers favorite... Thursday night take part in our “AdeptiCon Welcome Dinner” and hear guest speakers from Black Library, 40K Radio and the AdeptiCon crew themselves. Not only that we will be adding speakers as we go forward... We will meet every night for dinner and if you can join us all are welcome. Friday we will head off for some Chicago Style Pizza at “Giordano's" and Saturday night we will venture off to exchange stories of battle over beer at the Rock Bottom Brewery. Finally, relax on Sunday as Geek Nation Tours has grabbed us some tickets to the AdeptiCon mixer and poker tournament. For those of you who are not poker players we will make sure several boardgames will be set out for some “beer and pretzels” style gaming. As a matter of fact 2012 saw the crew from the “D6 Generation” run a gaming night. And it was a dozy... Everyone agreed that it was one of the most enjoyable evenings of the whole trip.

Day 1 (Wednesday – April 17th ): That's right Geek Nation Tours has added a day to the tour and we will go on a couple of extra adventures this year...

Arrival in Chicago with Private Transfers all the way to the Westin Lombard. Don't want to worry about getting to the hotel? We've got you covered! When we arrive Teras will show you around the hotel and make sure you know where all the Adepticon events will take place. Need to know where to go? Teras will be there to help get you going in the right direction. It will be hassle and stress free.

Later, join us at the hotel for our exclusive “AdeptiCon Welcome” dinner. Guest appearances by “secret” Guests of Honour (with question and answer), Romeo from BattleFoam and 40K Radio will be there so we can pester him with any foam or podcasting questions that you may have. Most importantly, for all those looking for a bit of advice on how to game at AdeptiCon we will have an exclusive “AdeptiCon Survivor Tactics and history” presentation by the AdeptiCon crew.

In the past we managed to have Dan Abnett, Chris Wraight, C.L. Werner and Andy Smillie from Black Library as our special guests. We were treated to a long, intimate and very fun Q & A at the “Welcome Dinner”. This year’s special guests are still in question but be sure that Geek Nation Tours will line up only the very best quests for you. We are going to add as many as possible to our “Welcome Dinner” so return often to keep updated. But with that said, this year we have changed things up a bit.. Not only will we have the above special guests but we will be announcing a special Pro Painter Guest that will come to our Welcome Dinner to give us some painting tips and how he/she came to be the painter he/she is today....

Plus no more line ups! Geek Nation Tours will be handing out all your event tickets, passes and swag at the "Welcome Dinner"....

Day 2 (Thursday – April 18th ): Today you will see Geek Nation Tours at war!!!! Well not Geek Nation Tours but its tour participants!!! Well not "war" really - but Laser Tag!! We will be headed out to the Enchanted Castle for some Go-Kart racing and Laser Tag goodness. Get to know your fellow tour participants as you put them to the blaster....See your foes fall before you even before you get to the Adepticon tables....

Let Geek Nation Tours treat you tonight as we will be off to a gamers favorite the Tilted Kilt for dinner. Hopefully we can convince some special guests to join us as we did last year.....More to come on this event

Day 2 (Friday – April 19th): Game and Seminar to your heart’s content. For those that can join us we will be headed off as a group for some Chicago style Pizza at Giordano's (not included).

As a matter of fact, past participants agree that our meet-ups are an important part of the convention experience - a time where you can get to know other Geeks and maybe hear a great suggestion or two on what to do the following days, exchange “war stories” and have loads of fun. You can join us every night or you can do your own thing. Geek Nation Tours wants you to have the most freedom to "Geek Out" as possible so our meetings will be completely optional and you can come and go as you please.

Can't find us at night and want to hang? You can locate Teras by Facebook Places, Twitter or just ring him on his mobile.

Day 3 (Saturday – April 20th): Game and Seminar to your heart’s content. Again, for those that can join us we will be headed off as a group to Rock Bottom Brewery for drinks and dinner (not included).

Day 4 (Sunday – April 21nd): AdeptiCon will be hosting their annual “Mixer”. We will join them for dinner (included in your price) and post dinner we will be offering at least two options for you to relax with some less competitive gaming. Whether it is poker, boardgaming or just hanging out at the bar this is sure to be a nice mellow end to an adventure filled weekend. As a matter of fact many many laughs were heard from our past tour members. We cannot stress enough how fun this last night was.

Day 5 (Monday – April 22nd): Return to your origin city

What is included: All hotel nights and taxes (we will be staying right on site at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center), Transfers to and from airport, Tilted Kilt dinner, All gaming at the Enchanted Castle, AdeptiCon Welcome dinner and AdeptiCon “Mixer” meal on last day (plus post convention gaming). Guaranteed Gaming and Seminar bookings, Weekend pass and VIG upgrade which includes Preferred Check-in, AdeptiCon T-shirt, AdeptiCon glass, and ½ hour advanced early entry to the Vendor’s Hall, private guide and more fun than you can shake a Goblin at....

Please note that flights are not included. With this said Geek Nation Tours is able to get you to Chicago from all round the world. Send us an email and we would be happy to give you an air quote.

Pricing: $999.00 per person based on double occupancy or $1330.00 based on single occupancy. Need a day less? See our Modified Tour below...

Don't have a friend to get the double occupancy rate? That is what Geek Nation Tours does. Book as a double occupancy and we will match you up a roommate... This way you get the best of both worlds - some one to BS about the con with - and more cash to spend!

Modified AdeptiCon Tour 2013: Only have limited time and can't come for the whole tour? Join us for our reduced duration Modifed Tour. Have all the tour goodness but forgo the Titled Kilt, Laser Tag and extra night hotel and join us on Wednesday... Want to come a day early? We can do that too! Send us an email and we will work out some cost for you....

Deposit: This tour must be paid in full at booking. Remember to book by October 15th to secure desired gaming and seminar selections.

Need Help Booking your whole Holiday??? No problem - Geek Nation Tours can take care of the whole package for you. If you need a train from New York or air from Japan we do it all while you just sit back and focus on gaming...We even did a Contiki tour for one of our guests in past years.

Promotions: Yes we do indeed have promotions. Geek Nation Tours and AdeptiCon bring you even more goodness. You want Battlefoam too? Sure. Battlefoam is always a part of the Adepticon experience and a great way to keep your minis from harm's way. We will be drawing for a Battlefoam "Go"bag. And don't forget Teras will be opening his wallet to one lucky tour participant winner... $150.00 of vendor goodness is up for grabs. We will do the draw for this on the 40K Radio Podcast so stay tuned...

We will be drawing for these Geek Nation Tours promos as follows....

September 30th 2012: Battlefoam "Go" Bag

October 15th 2012: Teras' Shopping spree....

Book soon as if you book soon you will be included in all three draws!

Non-Geek Spousal Argument: “But they have Great Non-Geek Spouse tours too…..take a look at this! ”

Departs from: Anywhere on the globe

Wow Teras I hate to sound like a broken record but my second child is also due around the same time next year and unfortunately I can't make your tour. I would recommend your tour if people are looking to go to Adepticon. I was on your tour last year and it was awesome. I mean the bowling shirt alone last year was worth it. The welcome dinner was great and all the other stuff was well worth it.

Thanks again for a great service.

Once more, the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center will host the festivities and the entire hotel will be devoted to the AdeptiCon experience! For the first time ever, AdeptiCon will feature a full slate of events on Thursday, giving you FOUR full days to experience all that AdeptiCon has to offer.

A full schedule will be posted shortly before the web cart goes live on Monday, November 12th. Last year, our most popular events sold out within days, so act quickly to reserve your spot in the events of your choice! To tide you over, we offer a few exciting details concerning some of our larger events:

AdeptiCon 40K National Team Tournament:

By popular demand, the AdeptiCon Warhammer 40K Team Tournament will now span two days of allied carnage! The event will now feature a full 5 rounds (3 on Saturday, April 20th and 2 on Sunday, April 21st), 128 teams and a more relaxed the schedule. The Warhammer 40K Team Tournament has continually raised the bar in terms of army design, theme, and presentation - yet this is often lost in the fast and hectic pace of the weekend. In order to make sure everyone can enjoy what the best of the hobby has to offer, the top contenders for Best Team Appearance and Best Team Theme/Presentation will be placed on display in the main Warhammer 40K hall for everyone to enjoy!

AdeptiCon Fantasy Team Tournament:

The AdeptiCon Warhammer Fantasy Team Tournament has set the standard for 2-person team play in the Fantasy realm. To give these partnerships more chances to shine, the AdeptiCon Warhammer Fantasy Team Tournament will shift to a full-day, 3-round format on Friday, April 19th! If you haven't already, its time to start coming up with your team's theme, because the competition will be fierce on all fronts!

AdeptiCon 40K Championships:

The AdeptiCon weekend kicks off with the AdeptiCon Warhammer 40K Championships Qualifier on Thursday, April 18th - a 4-round, self-contained event with a full slate of awards and prizes. The top 16 players will move on to the finals on Friday and play four additional rounds to determine the AdeptiCon Warmaster! No more 5AM games on Sunday! No longer will you have to wait until the AdeptiCon weekend is over to discover who has emerged as the winner! What if you do not qualify? Don't panic, there will be plenty of other Friday events that you can participate in, including the Warhammer 40K Gladiator, Warhammer 40K Friendly, and many others.

AdeptiCon Fantasy Championships:

Every year, the best Warhammer Fantasy players from across the country and the world come to AdeptiCon to test their mettle. This year, the AdeptiCon Warhammer Fantasy Championships will shift to a 2-day/5-game format with three games on Saturday, April 20th, two games on Sunday, April 21st. With the expanded format, expect the competition, generalship and artistry to reach new heights! This will definitely be the 'can't miss' event for Warhammer Fantasy players in 2013!

HOTEL INFORMATION: 75% FULL!

Based solely off our announcement this past summer, reservations at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center have already filled 75% of our block for 2013. Our dedicated volunteers are the engine that drives AdeptiCon and have made it the premier event in the miniature wargaming hobby. Volunteers are absolutely critical to the making AdeptiCon a success and supporting and building the hobby in general. If you can come in a little earlier, or stay a little later, or give us one day over the weekend, you can help us make sure that AdeptiCon lives up to the standard of excellence that we've built and give a little bit back to the hobby that we all love and enjoy.

If you want to volunteer, or just want to find out more about what volunteering entails, email us at: volunteer@adepticon.org with the following information:

Name
Email
Phone Number
Team(s) You're Interested in and availability
Here are the ways you can help make AdeptiCon a success:

Events (Registration, Tournaments, Demos, other Events)

Our event staff help run all of our events, from one hour demos with four or five players to the massive AdeptiCon 40K National Team Tournament. They also staff our registration table, take pictures and do everything needed to make sure that events run as smoothly as possible. If you're interested in working as part of our event staff, be sure to let us know which day(s) during the weekend that you're available to work.

Operations (Setup and Breakdown)

Our operations staff do the behind-the-scenes work of setting up and breaking down the terrain for our gaming tables, unpacking the legendary AdeptiCon "swag", and much more. Please note, this may require you to arrive the day before the convention begins and/or work some early mornings and late nights. If you're interested in working as part of our operations staff, let us know.

Terrain Building

Thanks to our Terrain Building team, AdeptiCon's terrain has become well known for a standard of excellence not usually seen at independent conventions. This team does the entirety of their work before the convention, and you must be able to get to our terrain building headquarters (for the past four years, Capitol City Games in Springfield, IL) for terrain building days.

Teras
Geek Nation Tours
