The Blitzer I did some reposing on, brought the right arm up at the shoulder and the left arm is bent inwards at the elbow so it has less of a charging ape look. The reposing came out rather well as I managed to keep it pretty seemless.



The Bomber is pretty standard and was the first Dire I painted, I used mostly washes, glazes and good ole dry brushing to shade him. I got good results, but the number of steps needed is far greater than the wet blending. Im still pretty happy with it though. I had to pin the torch pygmy at the wrist sine he broke, and while I was at it I magnetized him so he'll pop off rather than keep breaking any time I put them in a case.



On the Extreme, he still needs some shading, and I think I might do some more work on the flesh rocks. The method I used on the blitzer and regular mauler worked alot better and he'll get similar treatment to add some depth. (and yes- I see the blob on his right calf that needs to be blended out!)



The 'Baby' Mauler, compared to the others he just seems to be the runt of the litter. He was actually alot of fun to paint. As hte last one of the Dires I painted, I had my methods down, and did hi in less than 2 hours. The lack of harness bits like blitzer/bombers have made it so much easier to paint.



I've got 3 ideas for the bases, the usual snowy thing, a fall themed woodland with autumn leaf litter, and a spring forest with the dires tromping through green grass and cheerful flowers ^_^

Any criticism, ideas or other useful feedback? You have put all this effort into blending and then it just looks like you have come over the top with a dark blue/black wash for the recesses.

Aside from that pretty nice, photos are a little blurry, so can't quite see the blends perfectly but they look nice.
