				<description><![CDATA[ At Powerfist Gaming a escalation league is starting soon. Seems I've just started Daemons, I thought it would be rude not to enter. Plus this gurantees me games and I also get to play smaller games, which I find enjoyable.<br /> <br /> I didn't get any pictures last night as I wasn't planning on doing bat reps, but as there're small games I can easily remember what has happened.<br /> <br /> My first game is 1,000 points and is against Alan. Alan has played the D.V missions a bit, but not a full game of 6th, though he knows the game inside out. I cannot remember warlord traits, though I know mine was useless. Alan had switched his codex powers for smite and infeeble.<br /> <br /> I lost both roll off and Alan let me take first turn. Alan took the top left side and deployed along the line going from bottom left to top right starting with the Assault Marines, Scouts, Pedro with Libby and Terminators and Predator. The Tacticals camped in the Rhino in the top left corner. <br /> <br /> * Tactical Notes<br /> <br /> I will split my wave into the usual offensive which has Screamers, Flamers and a single Herald. The way Alan has deployed his units means the Flamers could get multiple hits. Herald can land behind the Predator and take it out while the Screamers could slash Scouts; probably kill them and get first blood and a kill point.<br /> <br /> Turn 1<br /> <br /> I roll for my waves and I get the wrong one; mass of Plaguebearers and single Herald come on instead. I drop a Plaguebearer unit not far from the Assault Marines, hoping that Alan will take the bait. I reinforce the area with more Plaguebearers and drop on in the centre ruin close to the Scouts. I hope Alan will take the bait with the Assault Terminators; my Plaguebearers can then join in the assault to backup the units already engaged in combat. Herald drops behind the Rhino.<br /> <br /> Shooting; Herald blasts the Rhino with gaze and bolt and it goes boom! Kill point and first blood to me. Three Marines die in the blast and squad passes morale.<br /> <br /> Alan moves the Tacticals out of the Rhino crater and towards the Herald while the Assault Terminators move about; Pedro is within 12" of the tacticals. Scouts move to dakka dakka the Plaguebearers in terrain while the Assault Marines move up to get another squad while the Predator moves forward 6".<br /> <br /> Shooting; Tacticals blast the Herald and take off a few wounds. Alan gets the order wrong of casting his psychic power and casts infeeble on the Herald. Scouts blast the Plaguebearers, but cover saves and feel no pain is strong. Assault Marines bolt pistol one unit all Plagues are ok. Predator dakkas another Plaguebearer unit, though all are safe as houses.<br /> <br /> Assault; Assault Marines charge the Plaguebearers and kill two and are all safe themselves. Tacticals assault the Herald (they fired bolt pistols), Herald does no wounds and has a single wound left.<br /> <br /> * Tactical Notes<br /> <br /> A decent start thanks to the Herald and I don't think I've taken much punishment back from Alan. He did take the bait of my Plaguebearers, which means those Assault Marines are going to get piled on with another unit. <br /> <br /> Next turn I am hoping for my Screamers to come down, they will slash the Scouts and the Plagues in the centre ruin will assault them. All other Plagues will pile onto the Assault Marines. <br /> <br /> Turn 2<br /> <br /> I roll for reserves and all units arrive, though one unit of Flamers mishaps onto the other unit; the unit is misplaced and Alan places them near his Tactical Squad so he can charge them in his turn. The other unit of Flamers landed by the Terminators while the other Herald landed behind the Predator while Screamers landed near the centre ruin and by the Terminators.<br /> <br /> Movement; two Plaguebearer units lumber forward towards the Assault Squad while the other unit lumbers towards the Scouts. <br /> <br /> Shooting; Herald blasts the rear of the Predator and does nothing. Flamers BBQ the Terminators, because I've placed the Flamers by Pedro, Alan does look out, sir, which he passes fails two wounds which kill a Terminator; Pedro passes both his invulnerable saves. Screamers zoom over the Terminators and slash them killing a Terminator while the other Screamers zoom over the Scouts and kill two; Scouts pass morale.<br /> <br /> Assault; Plaguebearers assault the Assault Marines, only two Assault Marines remain and combat is a draw. Plagues assault the Scouts and they are wiped out. Tactical Squad kills the Herald.<br /> <br /> Fists second turn; the Predator pivots on the spot and aims at the Herald who just arrived. Pedro and Terminators move to tackle the Flamers who just shot at them while Tacticals approach the other Flamer unit.<br /> <br /> Shooting; Librarian casts enfeeble on the Flamrs while Pedro blasts with his dorn's arrow and a Flamer takes a wound. Tacticals unleash bolt pistols into the other Flamers, I think all are safe. Predator fires into the Herald and the Herald fails a few saves.<br /> <br /> Assault; Tacticals charge the Flamers, the Flamers over watch and kill three Tacticals, who lose combat after another Marine is killed; Imperial Fists hold. Pedro and Termies charge the Flamers and batter them, one left, which is great as Screamers can pile in. Plagues lay the smackdown on the Assault Marines and now only one remains.<br /> <br /> * Tactical Notes<br /> <br /> I didn't have much offensive this turn. My Herald was locked in combat and one unit of Flamers ended up away from the action. Things aren't too bad though as the Scouts are dead and the Assault Marine is just holding on, as is the Tacticals.<br /> <br /> Next turn I will move a unit of Screamers and Plaguebearers into the Terminators while the other Screamers assault the Tacticals. Hopefully the last Herald can finish off the Predator.<br /> <br /> Turn 3<br /> <br /> Herald zooms along so now on the side of the Predator. Screamers move to assault Tacticals and Terminators while Plaguebearers move up to join the party.<br /> <br /> Shooting wise the Herald makes the Predator go boom. In combat the Screamers tear up the Tacticals and leave Pedro only remaining while the Assault Marine holds his ground.<br /> <br /> In Alan's last turn Pedro gets chewed up and the Assault Marine eats slime.<br /> <br /> Daemons win tabling the Fists.<br /> <br /> Summary<br /> <br /> I thought things were going to be tough when I got the wrong wave come in, but as usual, people fall for the Plaguebearer trap and they are a great tarpit unit. Good rolls made sure I got everything first turn and added a lot of target saturation. Add Alan's lack of vehicles meant my bolts can do their work a whole lot easier.<br /> <br /> I think Alan's mistake was casting enfeeble on the first Herald. The Herald isn't exactly a tough cookie and instead would have been better assaulting the Plaguebearers in the terrain, who he would have made a mess off. Instead those Plaguebearers were free and the Terminators didn't have a massive impact.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The second game is against Jordan. Jordan is pretty new to the game and had about half a dozen games in total; two have been against me. I will be helping him best I can. I did forget to roll night fighting, which I rolled after Jordan deployed, but decided not to use it as it wasn't fair for him.<br /> <br /> I lost the roll off for deployment side and who deploys first. Jordan decided to go first. He spread his Chimeras out so my Flamers couldn't BBQ them.<br /> <br /> Turn 1<br /> <br /> Jordan pops smoke in case of Herald shots.<br /> <br /> I split my waves and like last time I end up with Plaguebearers. One deep strikes in the centre ruin while another deep strikes behind a wall; hopefully I'll get good cover on the wall. That's my turn!<br /> <br /> Turn 2<br /> <br /> Jordan remains static, except the melta-Chimera comes forward to blast the Plagues by the wall. <br /> <br /> Shooting wise the Plagues by the wall lose a single Plaguebearer while the ones in the centre are destroyed by heavy bolters, multi lasers and frag grenades; I fail to pass a single cover/feel no pain save - rubbish.<br /> <br /> So Jordan's off to a good start. Looks like my luck is about to change as all my units arrive from reserve. I place the Flamers by the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> Chimera and the Screamers by the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> Chimera while the Herald lands behind the melta Chimera, who scatters off the board and is misplace; Jordan places the Herald right over by my table edge. Only real movement is the Plaguebearers mooching up to the melta Chimera.<br /> <br /> Only real shooting is the Flamers who BBQ the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> Chimera and knock off two hull points. Screamers go flat out and slash the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> Chimera and take off a single hull point while the Herald zooms up. <br /> <br /> Assault wise the Plaguebearers attack the Chimera, though lose one of their own to overwatch. I manage to take a hull point off the Chimera; story of my life!<br /> <br /> Turn 3<br /> <br /> Jordan repositions Chimeras away from me, but only moves 6" so he can fire his guns as much as possible. <br /> <br /> Shooting; <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span>, their Chimera and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> Chimera along with the squad blast the Flamers and two remain. Melta unit dakkas the Plaguebearers and they are all safe.<br /> <br /> Daemon turn; Plaguebearers chase after the Chimera while the Herald moves up to get the side armour of it. Flamers bounce up while Screamers move to assault the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> Chimera.<br /> <br /> Shooting wise the Herald fluffs and does nothing. Flamers fail to do any damage to the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> Chimera. Shooting wise it's not looking good.<br /> <br /> Assault is a little more promising as the Screamers assault the Chimera and wrap it. It goes boom and the autocannon team cannot be placed and are removed. Unit is also pinned too from the vehicle explosion. Plaguebearers assault the Chimera and take off another hull point. <br /> <br /> Turn 4<br /> <br /> Things are going pretty well for Jordan. If he can tackle the Flamers and also the Herald, then he should be able to deal with the remaining Plaguebearers and Screamers easily. <br /> <br /> Shooting; <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> and their tank blast the Flamers and the squad is wiped out. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> also issues get back in the fight to the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> squad, who pass. Melta unit and their tank dakka the Plaguebearers who all survive.<br /> <br /> Herald positions to get side armour on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> and melta Chimeras. Plaguebearers move up to keep chasing the Chimera.<br /> <br /> Shooting; the Herald gets lucky and scraps both Chimeras; melta unit fails pinning test. <br /> <br /> Assault; Plaguebearers assault the melta unit, a Plague dies from overwatch, but the squad still makes it and engage the Veterans, who just about pass morale after they lose combat. Screamers totally destroy the other Veteran unit.<br /> <br /> Turn 5<br /> <br /> It appears the tables have turned and Jordan is in a right pickle now. His only offensive left is the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> and there's no way they can wipe out the Screamers or Herald. He does shoot the Screamers and one takes a wound. The Plaguebearers vs Veterans combat is a draw after both sides fail to wound each other.<br /> <br /> In the Daemon turn the Screamers fly over to assist the Plaguebearers. The Herald shoots and charges the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span>, the Commander dies and only two Guardsmen remain; they show their bravery and remain in combat. Screamers tear the Veterans a new one, who fail combat and are destroyed by sweeping advance.<br /> <br /> At this point we call it a game as Jordan only has two models remaining.]]></description>
