				<title>1250 forest/jungle theme orc and goblins - first army</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hi all, i just started with the hobby and decided to make an army list of stuff to start out with.<br /> Kind of like a goal to reach at some point.<br /> I came up with the idea to make a forest/jungle themed list.<br /> I want mostly goblins/spiders when the list gets bigger. I dont want any wolfs/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(575);'>ng</span> in the list.<br /> <br /> To start out i added a 20 goblin shortbow unit because i wanted goblins and painting the models like spider riders with bone armor and rock weapons.<br /> Added 10 spider riders cause i like the models and want to add snagla grobspit to them at higher points.<br /> I also wanted some kind of leader for the army and why not take a Goblin Big Boss on a gigantic spider (awesome model).<br /> Then i added 19 savage orcs with savage orc shaman w lucky shrunken head to deal some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(198);'>dmg</span>.<br /> They already fit the jungle theme nicely but they are no goblins so i dont want to many of them in the future.<br /> The arachnarok spider is also a must have but i dont think he's really worth it at 1250 points total.<br /> This is the core i want to stick to and expand from there.<br /> <br /> So to get to the 1250 points i added some items to the goblin big boss.<br /> Added spear chukkas to get some shooting in the army.<br /> Another unit of goblins with nasty skulkers.<br /> And some river trolls just because i like the models.<br /> I also thought of deploying the big boss with them to fit them into the theme.<br /> <br /> Future plans are arachnarok spiders, 1 rare choice and 1 with the spidershrine and goblin great shaman.<br /> More goblins and spider riders ^^ and maybe 10/20 savage orcs extra to make a bigger unit.<br /> <br /> I would like to hear what you think about this list and if it is playable (and legal :p).<br /> I dont really care about the best list on the planet, i just want something thats fun to play and not being totally useless XD.<br /> And i dont really know what to do with the goblins, put them in a 40 unit horde or 2x20 basic units or 2x20 horde formation.<br /> Anyway just tell me what you think ^^.<br /> <br /> CORE: 703 <br /> <br /> 20 Goblins (110)<br /> -full command<br /> -shortbows/shields<br /> <br /> 20 Goblins (110)<br /> -full command<br /> -shortbows/shields<br /> <br /> 3 Nasty Skulkers (30)<br /> <br /> 19 Savage Orc Big 'Uns (283)<br /> -full command <br /> -extra hand weapon/shield<br /> -big stabba<br /> <br /> 10 goblin spider riders (170)<br /> -full command<br /> -shortbows<br /> <br /> SPECIAL: 105 points<br /> <br /> 3 Spear Chukkas (105)<br /> <br /> HEROES: 307points<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2 savage orc shaman (155)<br /> -general<br /> -lucky shrunken head<br /> <br /> Goblin Big Boss (152)<br /> -<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span><br /> -gigantic spider<br /> -fencers blades, dragonbane gem, enchanted shield, iron curse icon<br /> <br /> RARE: (135)<br /> <br /> 3 River Trolls (135 points)<br /> <br /> Total: 1245 Points<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Any reason you don't want Night Goblins? With their infatuation with drug-induced rituals and their fondness for nets, I could see them in a jungle setting. I might use regular gobbos with spider rider bits as proxies, or at least paint their hoods different, though.<br /> <br /> As to the list:<br /> <br /> - I'd get more gobbos (around 30), and put a few Nasty Skulkers in each. And I'd drop the Boss from the units. He's awfully expensive.<br /> <br /> - Spider riders seem to work best in units of 5. A musician is all you need for command.<br /> <br /> - At ~1300pts, that might be enough Savage Orcs Big 'Uns. Maybe. They'll be priority #1, though, and since they're more expensive but no more durable than regular Savage Orcs, I'd invest in more bodies.<br /> <br /> - Out of everything, the Spear Chukkas seem to fit the theme the least. Siege weapons just don't feel practical in a rainforest. 105 points could get you some other fun stuff.<br /> <br /> - I...really like your Spider-boss. Never seen a build like it before, but I think it'd be pretty decent. Does he get a bonus to armour from the spider, or is he just at a 4+? Also, just curious: why the dragonbane gem?<br /> As much as I like him, I would not make this guy your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>. Maybe a foot gobbo with a big ol' Ward save could do that?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Ty for the info ^^.<br /> <br /> I could go for 2x 5 spider riders and should i keep the gobbo's as archers?<br /> As for the night goblins, i just cant picture them in the army rly. They only thing i like are the netters but i dont like the cloaks at all XD.<br /> I just used the spear chukkas to have something with a nice range to get some damage in before i get in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>cc</span> (seen some nice conversions that could make them fit).<br /> I'm open to suggestions on that part :p.<br /> <br /> I picked the items on the spiderboss keeping in mind he's with the river trolls. They are weak to fire attacks so i got the dragonbane since the spiderboss is in there.<br /> Also the gigantic spider gives armour that would make him a 2+ save with 2+ fire wardsave and 6+ wardsave against warmachines. 				<description><![CDATA[ I would keep bows on the goblins.<br /> <br /> As for Night Goblins, I'm sure if you modeled some regular goblins with spider webs for nets and, I dunno, venom-crazed goblin fanatics, people wouldn't complain.<br /> <br /> The Chukkas are best at pegging monsters, but ideally, I think you'd want lots of Poison in your list, which would sort of fulfill the same roll.<br /> Getting some Goblin Shamans later on would really help with the theme, in that regard. Spider God blessings all around!<br /> <br /> Forgot that the Spider-boss was going with the trolls. I don't think I'd recommend that. He's a different troop type from the trolls, so if he gets hit with, say, a cannon ball, he gets no Look Out, Sir! roll, and takes the full hit himself, with a 6+ save to save him from pretty certain death.<br /> If only you could get a Monstrous Infantry character, the Dragonbane gem would be amazing with those trolls.<br /> <br /> Battle Standard Bearers let you re-roll your break tests, which means they double your chances of holding. With Goblins, this is extremely important, since they're not too stellar in the Leadership department. Keep him alive (which means in a unit, unfortunately).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Looks solid to me.<br /> The War-Spider-Boss with the Trolls is a little weird; he can help them be not Stupid and gives them a 6+ Ward versus war machines, but might suffer Stupidity himself.<br /> I'd also get a Ward or at least s'more armour. save on your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>.<br /> Normally, I'd advocate one higher level wizard versus two lower level ones, for more powerful casting/dispelling and less points, but it's not necessarily so when your other caster is a Goblin shaman with the Sneaky Stealin' attribute. Still, I might drop him, bump the Orc back to lvl2, and get some protective gear on your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>.<br /> <br /> ...or, you could get the Charmed Shield and the Talisman of Preservation on a Gigantic Spider-riding Big Boss and make him the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>. Screen him with trolls, and he could do some fun things. He'd be hard to pin down, with his high M and Wall-Crawler, but that kind of a list (that is to say, a forest goblin-style list) will be a challenge to play.<br /> <br /> Can you give Savage Orcs an extra hand weapon and a shield?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I can't take the big boss thing cause its to many points with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2 shaman.<br /> I can do it on the war boss though and i rly like the idea.<br /> I still have a weaker <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> then :(. How well could you protect a Gigantic Spider-riding <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> with that allotment?<br /> <br /> Also, the books says Savage Orcs may take <b>one </b>of the following. So extra hand weapons <b>or </b>shields (go with the extra hand weapons, always).]]></description>
