1500pt Dark Eldar

Two large and a small Wych squad, several Liquifiers and a Shattershard for flamer fun and games. 5 squads and an IC with Haywire grenades, plus 4 Heat Lances, should be plenty of anti-armor. Oh, and a Voidraven for anti-armor and dogfighting if needed. Splinterborn = loads of dakka (12 splinter cannons in the list); taking shredders with them may be a bit unconventional, but they're better at wounding than Shardcarbines against anything T6 or less, and with more tightly packed troops you can get a lot of hits. Oh, and it's got some ability to put pain on light armor if needed, in conjunction with their haywire grenades. Shatterfield missiles are there to take up a few extra points and give some target flexibility; plus, S7 large blasts are decent odds against backfield barrage units.

Comments welcome.

Re:1500pt Dark Eldar

First off, wych cult assault is very weak this edition, they're still just as terrible at giving hurts as last edition, but they can no long sweep most armies thanks to GW thinking marines aren't annoying enough with their saves, they can fail miserably on assault(yay 2D6!), giving away a free overwatch, being out in the open, etc... Certainly not saying you can't run wyches in assault at all, just don't expect them to be decent like 5th ed.

Succubus loadout looks fine, though I might consider dropping her HWG, wouldn't want to use her in vehicle assault, so it'll be a shooting weapon for the warlord, but again, it doesn't cost much so not something that needs fixing immediately. I'm fairly certain you can't make liquifier gun TL by bringing two, and since they're assault weapon, you can't gunslinger them. Shattershard is very much a "spare points" wargear, toughness test to kill sounds great, but think of it this way, you're essentially making T3 units roll 4+ to wound, T4 units roll 5+ to wound, which is just the same as using a S3 weapon. A lot of multi-wounds models have good toughness as well, so you're most likely looking at roll 6 to die on them... And for that, you paid that much points for an one use item on an HQ who will be easily shot down... But, it could be a very fun weapon to play with, so I'd keep it in the "spare points" toys section.

Wyches, I've sorta covered above, they aren't that super anymore, but your loadout is very good and well. Their raiders though, may want to drop the TGL, it's not really that helpful, and should only be considered when you have spare points, again, into the toys section. Aethersails, well... just be careful where you move your raiders, with the stupid change to vehicle assaults, you don't want to move too close and get assaulted... As we also take S4 explosion hits this ed, because GW loves opentopped!

Trueborns, well... shredders are bad, very very bad, look at the range, look at the AP, and then remember that you have to roll scatter on a BS4. It could backfire on you, but even if it doesn't, it's not gonna actually do that much hurts: let's say you've got 4 MEq under the template, that's 1.11 unsaved wound... And then your entire unit is within 12" of the enemy's forces, well inside the range where your NS upgrade is pointless, melta, bolter(or similar) spam, assault, everything can take your unit down now, and easily because we're DE. Why not just stay at 36" and reap the benefit of the SCs? Also HWG, while low cost, you really shouldn't have a shooting unit that can work perfectly fine at 36" move in close, DE aren't known to survive, don't challenge that.

Otherwise, the list isn't too bad.

I'm not saying you should drop wych assault completely, if that is what you and/or your gf wants, go nuts with it, but just remember that they're one of the units who got hit quite hard by the assault nerfs this ed.

Also, I think you're using some apps to make the list? Otherwise there really is no need to list every rules and basic equipments.

Re:1500pt Dark Eldar

Yup, ArmyBuilder and laziness.

I'm aware that wyches aren't all that killy this edition - but wych assaults aren't bad at all for non-power weapon assault units. High WS and 4+ invulnerable save, plus FNP from the Haemis, makes them good at tarpitting. The PGLs give them a cover save on the charge, which when combined with FNP makes overwatch much much less scary. Besides, she wants an all female army, and likes wyches, so there ya go. Haywires on the Succubus means that she can peel off in the movement phase, and they can toss 2 grenades instead of 1... potentially opening up a transport to assault / Liquify the contents right afterwards.

Aethersails and Torment Grenades - yes, these are a bit situational, but in this list I think they serve a purpose. Aethersails mean that I get where I need to be when I need to be there... and if the Raider survives long enough to deliver the Wyches into assault range, then I can flat out it next to the target unit... where the Torment Grenades will make a difference in the combat resolution. Sure, SMs won't run... but everything else can. -1Ld on top of combat resolution gives me a better chance of making that unit break, which gives me a better chance of sweeping them altogether. Which partly makes up for the lack of killiness of the Wyches themselves.

Good catch on the Liquifiers - thought they were pistols. So I'll need to adjust that. Shattershard I agree is pretty hit or miss - but instagibbing deathstars is awesome, even if it's less than totally reliable. Imagine unleashing that on a Harliestar that thinks it's invulnerable, or hosing a Draigowing with it. 1/3 chance to make Draigo go away with no saves and no Look Out Sir? for a whopping 10 points? Yes please. Screws over all manner of units that rely on 2+/3++/FNP saves, multiple wounds with Eternal Warrior, 4++/FNP... completely circumvents their survival mechanisms.

Shredders - again, situational, sure. But total rubbish I'm not so sure about. For one thing, it's not really part of the plan to be running them up point blank all the time - in a lot of cases, keeping them in their Venom at range and throwing out 24 poison shots per turn is going to be your best bet. But when you do get close... Shredders are a better bet than Shardcarbines for the same cost. After all, a Shardcarbine will only cause 0.333 unsaved MEQ wounds on average, with a whopping 6" more range. Shredders do more than 3 times that for the same cost. I've got enough Splinter Cannons flying around that a slight bit of inefficiency against 5+ saves isn't going to make a difference.

Any other thoughts?

Well, you certainly are well informed about DE enough, so I say go with it!

... Except... You don't have to go wyches if you want all female DE army, in fact, even if you go wyches, you'll still have some male models per official box. It's been a while since I've put together some kabbies or wyches, but I believe each box of kabs have 4 female bodies and 6 male, for wyches, it's the other way around(6 female 4 male), same for hellions or reavers, or ... scourges, you always get a mix of gender and you can never build all of one gender in any box. You'll have to look for bits sites and/or other means to obtain those extra female bodies, I'm afraid. I'll warn you though, female ..hmm.. bits are always in high demand.
