I started with Flames of War and branched out (much to my wallet's disgust) to other games. So now I have found a group that has convinced me to give WHFB a shot. I have only had a few games thus far, playing a friend's spare High Elf army. I really do like the feel of the forces they offer, being elite while fragile, but then my friend handed me the Daemons of Chaos codex (just to 'look over') and now I find myself at a crossroads as where to turn

In short, I would like people to give me their words of wisdom as to which army to invest my hard-earned monies

I would like to note that the group I play with are all friendly, not powergamers and absolutely opposed to cheese. Legal and strong are fine, but tailoring a list just to dominate aren't appreciated. With the daemons, I love the look of Slaanesh and Tzeentch models and wonder how they synergise (sp?). With the High Elves, I cannot find a unit I don't like.
