yeah i know its not RTS but i was just trying to find something that described it. I think it could be fun, the dynamic would be different from rts's though, alot more focus on micro and stuff.

Re:rts rules

IF you wanted a rule set that delived a similar playstyle to DoW , but suitable for the table top minatures of 40k.

Then a complete NEW rule set would be needed.
(A modern wargame for modern type units.)

Modern warfare is a balance of mobility to take objectives, fire power to control enemy movement , and assault fo contest objectives.

New rules would need...
More intergrated game turn.
Intergrated supression mechanic in the ranged damage resolution.
More tactical interaction.
etc,etc.
Not a mutated WHFB clone...

Re:rts rules

Hi potatosack.
There is nothing wrong with the concept of a table top game that plays more like DoW does.
As it would be loads of fun I am sure.

Its just the current rules for 40k would not be a good starting point.(Alternating game phase.)

Mantic are releasing a new rule set for Warpath this week end. This might be a better starting point for the sort of game you want.(Alessio Cavatore is writing these new rules so they should be ok!)

Have a look,(they are free to download beta.)See what you think...(Alternating unit activation.)
