The shield could be considered a buckler when in comparison to the size of the model carrying it, but I don't think it works because of the size of the gun on the shoulder.

I can't think of a way to improve the look by increasing the size of the shield without radically changing its shape.

I believe the buckler would be appropriate if the 'Lord were not armed with the gun. However, I'm not completely sold on the white parts. I know how givin' dept, shadows and consequent lights on flat/undetailed white parts could be painful but I'm still missing something on it.
