				<title>1750 Tallarn vs Blue Blood Angels #1</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Having slowly been coming to terms with 6th edition it was time to get a game in with a new list to continue to test some units that seem to be performing well, and test a few I haven't tried before.<br /> <br /> Up on the test bench today we have a Leman Russ Exterminator with Pask, a lascannon and heavy bolters, as well as a colossus. These were the closest models I had available for a test run.<br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433726-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433726_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> I rememberd to take my camera down the hill to take a couple of pictures, but then proceeded to pretty much completely forget about the camera for most of the game. But then I forgot to take any photos until turn 3  <img src="/s/i/a/053f30f6773034eb25223d86f0e00d8d.gif" border="0"> <br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433727-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433727_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> The objectives were all pretty much placed 6" in from the back and 12" in from the sides. Good for re-spawning conscripts.<br /> <br /> I won the roll off and took first. Nightfight was on!<br /> <br /> I set up with everything except a few conscripts behind the defense line. Lascannons as the front and command squads at the back with chenkov manning the quad gun. In between was the 20 man blob with the commissar lord, with everybody except the conscripts in range of his aura.<br /> <br /> My opponent set-up his defence line directly accross fom me, with the librarian and the landraider squad manning the quad gun flanked by the auto-las predator and rifleman. The dakka pred set-up in the bottom left corner in the picture above. The razorbacks set-up behind the defence line a bit further along and the landraider set-up in the open at the end. Both assault squads would be deep striking.<br /> <br /> <b>Turn 1</b><br /> <br /> My conscripts moved forward with the demolisher trying to wrap it.<br /> <br /> The colossus shoots at the dreadnaught scattering a couple of inches back, failing to do any damage to it, but killing a couple of marines and spotlighting the dread.<br /> <br /> The demolisher shoots its heavy bolter at the auto-las predator spotlighting it. One lascannon squad opens up on it failing to get past cover. The other lascannons fails to damage the dakka pred in the dark (all they could see). The quad gun and autocannons fail to hurt the riflemen. the exterminator put a hull point on the autolas pred. A pretty lacklustre start from the guard.<br /> <br /> My opponent only moves his landraider. All his shooting is pretty much directed at the tanks with their spotlights shining in his eyes. The colossus explodes, but that is about all.<br /> <br /> <b>Turn 2</b><br /> <br /> Al' Rahem comes on the left (bottom in the picture above) next to the dakka pred. The conscripts keep moving forward with the demolisher getting into range of the landraider.<br /> <br /> Bring it down on the lascannons strips a hull point from the auto las pred. Al Rahem orders bring it down on himself to explode the dakka pred, killing both the meltagunners in the process causing him to flee.<br /> <br /> The master of ordnance direct hits the quad gun, also hitting the librarian, rifleman and autolas pred. One wound off the quad gun, 2 more marines dead and a hull point off the rifleman.<br /> <br /> The demolisher misses the landraider and the other shooting doesn't achieve anything. I am remembering now how tough a 4+ save can make a vehicle.<br /> <br /> On his turn both jump squads come in combat squaded with meltas in one half and the sergeant in the other. He goes for extremely risky deepstrikes near my russes but gets a hit and a 2 inch scatter (3 would have been a mishap). he then proceeds to blow both of them sky high, damn!<br /> <br /> The other squads come in near Al Rahem and his platoon and kill a couple of guardsmen. Other shooting goes at my chimeras, one in stunned, and at my command squad and lascannon squads who all go to ground. I lose some guardsmen out of the command squad only.<br /> <br /> Guess where the russes were.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433730-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433730_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> <b>Turn 3</b><br /> <br /> Okay, time for a counter attack.<br /> <br /> Al' Rahem Regroups. The loaded chimera moves to flame an assault squad but immobilises itself on the wreckage of the dakka pred. So the guardsmen jump out after looking at what can see its side armour.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433728-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433728_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> The conscript move to charge one squad of assault marines and the blob moves to charge another.<br /> <br /> Chenkov gets the command squad and a lascannon squad back in the fight. The master of ordnance scatters 15" to nowhere and the lascannons kill the autolas pred.<br /> <br /> Al' Rahem and the squad near him kill a couple of assault marines with shooting. The immobilised chimera fails to hurt the rifleman, as does everything else.<br /> <br /> The blob wipes out one assault squad and the conscript take out 2 marines for the loss of 2 and stick.<br /> <br /> In my opponents turn he moves a razorback towards the cowering guardsmen on one of his objectives. The landraider and other razorback move to take shots at the chimera below.<br /> <br /> The assault squads move to destroy Al' Rahem and his other platoon squad.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433729-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433729_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Shooting ounce again goes towards my command squad and lacannons who go to ground for no losses. The shaken chimera takes 2 hull points and collapses, while the other chimera survives having a lascannon hit its side armour.<br /> <br /> Al' Rahem and his platoon squad are wiped out easily. The conscripts fail to do any wounds for 5 lost and flee, getting away, but running one inch short to get to the table edge.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433731-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433731_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> <b>Turn 4</b><br /> The blob moves to assault the squad that chased off the conscripts. I remove the consripts from the table just in case they decide to pass morale.<br /> <br /> Chenkov again orders the command squad and lascannons up. The master of ordnance hits the quad gun directly again (this would make 4 direct hits out of 5 shots over the last 2 games, why do you think he was focusing so much firepower on them), and destroys the quad gun, the librarian to a failed look out sir and the dreadnaught. Other shooting doesn't achieve much.<br /> <br /> The blob assaults the assault marines and wipes them out, consolidating back behind the defense line for a turn 5 dash to the objective.<br /> <br /> He jumps his far razorback squad out onto his far objective.<br /> <br /> He is running out of shooting but continues to try take out my command squad. (I made a mistake here and said he was my warlord, which he wasnt, so he went after him pretty hard as it as looking to be a tie if he didnt take him out) I lose everybody but my commander.<br /> <br /> He assaults my platoon squad on his objective and one of my lascannon squads, wiping them both out.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/433732-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/22/433732_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> <b>Turn 5</b><br /> <br /> My conscripts run onto the board to capture an objective. My blob moves and runs to secure the other.<br /> <br /> At the moment it is a draw, I cant really get a win, but can play for the draw, I just need to get my (wrong) warlord out of line of sight. Chenkov orders him up and he fails!<br /> <br /> Chenkovs squad and the quadgun shoot down the 2 assault marines that just killed my lascannon squad.<br /> <br /> In his turn he manoeuvres to get as many shots on my company commander as possible. He goes to ground again and makes every 2+ save. He kills off my Chimera in his backfield.<br /> <br /> Roll to end and it goes on.<br /> <br /> <b>Turn 6</b><br /> <br /> It all pretty much comes down to my warlord surviving. Chenkov orders him up, and he runs 1". Oh no!<br /> <br /> On his turn 4 twinlinked lascannons arc towards my company commander and I manage to roll a 1 and he goes down to lose the game.<br /> <br /> Great game, really close and came down to the last few dice rolls, which only happens sometimes against an opponent this good.<br /> <br /> I am pretty happy with this list. I wish I could find points to get the colossus some camo netting, as currently it sticks out like a sore thumb. The pask exterminator didnt get much game time, but I think I will stick with him for a bit. <br /> <br /> I really need to learn to bubblewrap against deepstriking meltas. I seem to get done by this over and over again. I will learn eventually I hope.<br /> <br /> Chenkov and his conscripts are great. Chenkov is also a great source of "get back in the fight" which is great when sitting with heavy weapon squads behind a defense line.<br /> <br /> I need a lot more practice with Al' Rahem.]]></description>
