I have been sitting on the fence with this arm pose for about a year now, so I’m hoping to get some input from the Dakka community. The mini is a relic Dark Angel Contemptor, with plasma cannon, plasma blaster and close combat weapon. When placed on its base, the Contemptor is treading on a Fallen Angel with its plasma blaster aiming over its front leg. The problem I have is this: what do I do with the right arm?

For me, it has come down to two choices:

Pose 1: “Recharging”. The plasma cannon is held at rest while it recharges, having incapacitated the Fallen Angel with a shot.





Pose 2: “Aiming”. The plasma cannon is aimed in the same direction as the plasma blaster. This offers some interesting opportunities for OSL near the plasma coil.




What would you want to see on the gaming table? If you have any advice please let me know.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who can see merits in both poses

Interestingly, when you let it sag in this positiion it actually draws attention to the arm. It gives the arm a longer profile, particularly when you are looking down at it from the table top. This was something I wanted to avoid,. By keeping it in tight, it minimises the profile and works better as an "off-hand" weapon. I agree, it does look a little "unnatural", but it is a Dreadnought. I may let a plasma cannon sag after vaping a Fallen Angel, but I can imagine a Contemptor keeping its weapon up, ready to go.

I hear you The shape of the torso and position of the arms makes it really hard to have both arms targetting the same thing (unless you make it look like a zombie with its arms straight out in front). I wanted to try though...

I agree with Darth Bob, I feel that you wouldn't want a big ol plasma cannon that close to any part of yourself.
