New to Necromunda, Couple Rules Questions

So a couple friends and I have started playing Necromunda, a game I've been wanting to play ever since it first came out while I was in middle school. But being so new, we have a couple questions about the rules that don't seem super clear.

I unfortunately had one of my gang captured in the last game, and we were looking forward to trying the rescue scenario. However, it doesn't say anywhere what happens to the guys gear if I rescue him. I know that in the rescue game he only gets a knife as we fight our way out, is the rest of his gear lost? Does the enemy gang get to keep his weapons or if I successfully rescue him do I also recover his gear?

Second, the rules multiple combat doesn't cover what happens if the fight is 2 on 2. Basically, I charged two of my guys into his guy and then the next turn, he charged one of his guys into one of mine. So it was really two fights, in one there was 2 of his guys on one of mine and in the other I had two on his one, but they were still connected. In what order do we resolve that? Does it become two one on one fights (unlikely)?

Thanks for all the help, despite the occasional issue, we are having a blast playing Necromunda!

Don't have the rulebook on me at work to check, though... It should be mentioned at the start of the close combat section.

New to Necromunda, Couple Rules Questions

Thanks for the response insaniak, and loving the necromunda stuff you are doing in your blog.

The captured says that if you are exchanged or ransomed, they keep their gear but if they are sold to slavery, the capturing gang keeps it (p. 84 living rulebook). Didn't see anything for if they are rescued.

We played it that way. It says that the outnumbering player gets to choose (p. 24). In this case there were no outnumbering players so the person who's turn it was went first. Seemed weird that I never got a chance to strike against the other guy I was engaged with, and it's been so long since I've played 2nd edition.

It would make the most sense for the enemy gang to keep his gear, though, particularly if he is left with just the knife for the rescue mission.

On a related note, we actually added in a little extra detail for the rescue... Instead of being something that you can automatically do, you have to send a ganger out looking for the enemy gang (done instead of working a territory post-game) and he has to pass an Initiative check to locate them. If you locate them, then you can mount a Rescue. We figured it makes the resuce far more interesting if it's not a sure thing
