The lists were roughly this

7 Chimeras with lots of melta bombs

and

a venerable dreadnought
a whirlwind
a pimped out devestator squad
terminator squad


It was early morning, the star was about to rise and company commander Hektor Voss had ordered his transport company to advance at cruising speed forwards.
His subordinates had been told that even though they couldn't see the enemy, they were definitely right ahead.

Barely seconds after the order and a barrage of firepower shot at them. The command vehicle, that had separated from the charge and was heading suicidally towards the devastators and whirlwind, took the most of the broadside, but all the shots seemed to only whisk around the transport. The venerable dreadnought fired at another of the legion's Chimeras, but again, it moved too fast to be targeted properly and remained unscathed, terminators advanced, trudging towards the lead Chimera and then, after only a moment, closed the gap with a fast jog and tried to hit the lead Chimera, the power fists missing or hitting the armoured machine at an angle and bouncing off. The company had prayed to Tzeench that no harm would come to it.

Sunlight appeared.

A terminator was killed, his helmet ripped off and his head stabbed and spat on.

Continuing to shoot, the dreadnought, reduced a chimera to a broken machine, it's crew shaken and unable to move. The whirlwind crew, having embarrassed themselves when they were sworn at by psychopathic maniacs, drove as fast as they could in an attempt to regroup with the dreadnought. The terminators went down another two men and the guardsmen attacking them lost three.

The dreadnought was shot at and turned to face the attacker, a chimera with it's deranged passengers had metaphorically tapped it on the shoulder. Voss' Chimera raced off to chase the whirlwind, it's crew, having never been so close to the front lines, praying and weeping to the emperor. The final terminator was killed, his body and the bodies of his battle brothers defiled. Half of the chimera crews at this point, with nothing to do, started joking about, and taunting the Imperial force over loudspeakers.

The dreadnought shot at and chimera and wrecked it, the whirlwind fired and missed.

The whirlwind was shot, but prayers to the emperor had saved them from being damaged. Finally, the dreadnought was charged and with a melta bomb strapped onto it, it blew up and killed three guardsmen.

Finally, the whirlwind crew, knowing that there was no escape from the fatalistic warriors, hid in their tank and waited for the inevitable.


Calming down from the rage of battle, Hektor Voss ordered the remaining men, to return to base, those who couldn't fit in transports had to walk.
