Blu-ray player software

So I bought a reasonably high spec Pc a few years ago which included a blu-ray player and I have finally got round to trying it out and low and behold the damn things media software is on the fritz (HP Mediasmart) despite much upgrading and time wasted.

I had a look about Filehippo for some free software but I'm rather out of the loop these days and couldn't find/understand a damn thing!

So I would appreciate it if any Dakkanaut that's savvy on media stuff can recommend some blu-ray playing software (preferably free) so that I can watch Avengerds Assemble while painting?

Ps I tried cyberlinks ver. 12 but it wanted to identify DVD titles etc and lost patience with it - all I want to do is view disc so other function aren't too important.

I don't have a BR drive in my PC so my experience is limited in this arena, but my understanding is VLC has some support and will play back BD discs.

Go to this url.

1.) Download and install the VLC player from the very first link on the page. This should work for non-encrypted discs.

2.) Otherwise, get the other 2 links and follow the directions on the page. Should only take a few minutes and no reboot.

Nice one Ouze.

Set it up but no joy. I suspect that I have balls up putting the extra files in the right locations. Try again in the morning I suppose.

Any other suggestions appreciated in case it doesnt work.
