the Linebreaker Class Transport Tank

During the last great war on Europa Major the battle lines quickly degraded into trench warfare. at the time the favored strategy of the commanders was to rush the enemy's strongest point with a massed charge of infantry. this would often lead to whole regiments being wiped out in the course of a day. the crown prince at the time George of Britannia believed there was a better way. he worked with the royal college of engineers to create an unusual looking tank: the Linebreaker class transport tank. based on the design of a wheel the tank was initially mocked as "George's Nuts" because they would often work in pairs to transport a platoon. all opposition to the tanks was soon silenced when they were deployed for the first time at the battle of Normania, and subsequently ensured the Britannian victory. the Linebreaker crews earned a reputation for daring feats, and soon "George's Nuts" referred not to the tanks themselves, but to the crews that operated them. the tanks proved vital to the decisive Britannian victory that instituted the "Pax Europa" period of the planet's history. in the following years many of the tanks were demilitarized and sold into private hands as farm tractors, however a few are still kept in working condition in case they are ever needed again.

hello all, this is my most recent work of rules development: the Linebreaker class tank. this is the first in what I hope will be a series of custom units based on my Napoleonic IG force. so without any further ado, here's the stats:
Linebreaker class transport tank Pts: 200
BS: 3 Armor: Front: 13, side: 13, Rear: 13 HP: 4
Unit Type: Vehicle (tank)
Weapons: hull mounted Eradicator nova cannon, hull mounted heavy bolter, searchlight, smoke launchers.
Transport capacity: 20 models
Access points: one hatch in the front of the tank
Fire points: none

Options:
The Linebreaker may replace its heavy bolter with one of the following:
Heavy Flamer: free
Lascannon: 15 points

The Linebreaker may take a pair of siphons from the following list:
Heavy bolters or heavy flamers: 20 points
Multi-meltas: 30 points
Plasma cannons: 40 points

The linebreaker may take any of the following upgrades:
Pintle mounted storm bolter or heavy stubber: 10 points
Two multiple rocket pods: 40 points
Extra armor: 15 points
Dozer blade: 10 points

(a Linebreaker class tank is a heavy support choice in a Codex: Imperial Guard army.)

so what's everyone think about this so far? are there any modifications I should make before I finalize this?

Sounds pretty balanced to me. A mix of a troop transport and MBT.

Oh, and I Think you mean side sponsons, not siphons.

didn't the forces in the Europe region (especially the more powerful forces) fight with primitive Power Armoured Infantry? something like guardsmen with a 3+ save in my mind. I only say this so there's something good to transport into the middle of the enemy.

also, if it's a big wheel then it would make sense to me to have a limited turn axis per turn and have a real good reason to want to roll straight at the enemy, smashing a building as the defenders scatter into the open. so, is this meant to be a wheel that moves at the pace of a Leman Russ or is it meant to be fast and frightening? (the second being the first impression that I got)

I don't recall posting the part about the powered armor on Dakka. have you been reading the version over at Warseer? and yes the Britannians and the Aust Germanians have certain types of power armor available to elite troops, but they also have their own kinds of transports as well. also while it may be shaped like a wheel it is powered by two independent treads, allowing it to literally turn on a dime. as far as it being fast, it's more designed to transport large numbers safely than to be fast, but that does give me an idea for a smaller reconnaissance version.
