Homebrew MLP Codex (rereleased as v B1.6) need playtesters!

I've always wanted to make a pony army for Warhammer 40k since I became a brony (as I’m an avid Warhammer 40k player, and I love the blending of passions), and after watching "Ponyville Confidential" and seeing Twilight's forcefield, the final pieces of said army began to click into place. So, I took it upon myself to write the codex for the pony army (as I haven’t seen one before).

In writing the codex, I wanted to create an army for MLP that is both balanced and could be used competitively (in friendly games obviously), without making it "LOL THEYRE PONIES THEY MUST WIN EVERY GAME EVER LOLOLOLOLOL". But, as I no longer have anyone here to play Warhammer with me, I have decided to give up playtesting the codex by myself. Therefore, I have set up my dropbox and an email address to allow other people to download the codex, submit questions, suggestions, etc. and be able to see the FAQ and updates (as well as continue to download updated versions of the codex as they come out).

I first released this codex here on DakkaDakka last year in May, but people didn't want to read it as it seemed OP and was poorly formatted. I have spent last couple months working on this fandex completely reformatting it, nerfing it, and generally simplifying it. I feel that it has reached the point where I can finally re-release it and hopefully have people start playtesting it to make it better!

questions and suggestions are to be submitted to: ponyhammer40k@yahoo.com (most questions should be answered depending on volume)

email us if you want to be on the list for update notification! (we'll send you an email when the codex is updated, not every time we add something to the updates document)

Hope to have more people enjoying using MLP in Warhammer soon!
~Nicaetinismo

Main creator: Nicaetinismo
helpers: Praetors, Tivarox, Tetsuo1667

I'm releasing this fandex for those who would enjoy it, if you are not a fan of MLP, please do not tear it down for that reason alone; in fact, if you are not a fan of the show, your constructive criticism is even more appreciated

This is preposterous.

first of all, invul saves are not taken against wounds caused by perils of the warp.
Second the best "save" that can be taken against perils of the warp in this codex is a 3+ (comparable to the ghost helm from eldar) which only two models have (which happen to be the most powerful and expensive in the codex).
Third, the rolled-twice psychic test is conditional based on the current size of the unit. The most common psykers in the army have ld 9, which makes the odds of them passing a psychic test allowing for a reroll: ~98.7%. Compare this to the eldar runes of witnessing on ld 10 which passes ~99.5% of the time. Even at ld 10, a unicorn will only pass a rerollable psychic test ~99.5% of the time (exactly the same as an Eldar with runes of witnessing).
The reason why I am comparing unicorns to Eldar is because both make very heavy use of psychic powers, the difference being that eldar psychic powers are, for the most part, offensive, while unicorn psychic powers are almost strictly defensive.

the abundance of powerful psykers in this codex is the main reason why psykers in this codex are NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES allowed to use psychic powers from the 40k rulebook, as that would instantly break the codex.

chrisrawr wrote:
Looks alright I suppose.
