Dark Eldar 2000 points V2

right so this is my second attempt at a 2000 point dark eldar list, got a bit more of a theme for this one, I'm having an Archon as my leader with the baron as a tag along for the raid :p

here goes!

HQ

Archon (will be accompanied by incubi)
agoniser
Phantasm
shadow field
combat drugs
145 Points

Baron sathonyx (will be accompanied by Hellions)
105 Points

Elites

Incubi (9)
Raider
Enhanced aether sails
Night shield
273 points

Troops

Kabalite warriors (10)
Splinter cannon
Raider
Night shield
Splinter racks
180 points

Kabalite warriors
Dark lance
sybarite
Raider
Night shield
195 points

Hellions (19)
Helliarch
Stun claw
304 points

Fast Attack

Reavers (6)
Arena champion
Heat lance (2)
cluster caltrops (2)
206 Points

Reavers (6)
Arena champion
blaster (2)
cluster caltrops (2)
212 Points

Heavy Support

Razorwing fighter
Flickerfield
Splinter cannon
165 Points

Ravager
Nightshield
115 Points

I have exactly 100 points left and wasn't sure whether to drop a caltrops from one of the reavers squads so i could get another ravager, or drop some more upgrades to get another razorwing, any help would be much appreciated!!

Hey mate. Am liking the bones of the list but there are a few economical changes I would personally make.

Drop the sybarites from the kabbie squads. They don't need the Ld9 whilst in the boat, and when the boat goes down they're screwed anyway.

Switch the DL on the kabbie squad to a splinter cannon and get racks for the raider (the DL will be snap firing every turn because the raider will be moving, and if the raider isn't moving it will be exploding).

The stun claw on the Helliarch is a bit of a lol gimmick, I don't use it (I use an agoniser or venom blade in preference).

Drop the Arena Champion upgrades from the reavers. They don't contribute an awful lot in the grand scheme of things.

Drop the splinter cannon on the razorwing, you shouldn't get to use it till T5+ by which point it's a bit eh. Grab night shields on the razorwing instead.

With the saved points from upgrades you could look at getting a 2nd ravager with nightshields and giving the Archon something sexy like a huskblade. The agoniser is AP3, where as the blade is AP2 to match all the klaives being AP2.

editing a bit of what he said ^^^

i would take the kabbies just naked and toss SR on the raiders

swap stun claw for something more useful like a agoniser or venom blade

drop the arena champs as said before and swap agoniser for huskblade its ap2 and deals ID so its really great but doesnt have an auto wound roll to rely on so i generally take a venom blade on him as well in case i need to put on more wounds on my opponent instead of the one shot swing with the huskblade

i would either make the reavers heat lance or caltrops to specialise them and save yourself some points because iof they are boosting then they wont be shooting their lances

i prefer to use scourges for lances as they wont get shot up and focused before they can get their job done when they DS and preferably get out into some cover and be an annoyance or continue their job because a 3+ wont last you that long against a round or two of rapid fire bolters just because they are tough for DE doesnt mean their tough in general and DSing scourges guarentee at least one round of shooting unless you scatter really bad in that case get new dice

dont bother with the splinter cannon on the razorwing its unneeded and could be put towards onslaught on your incubi and some other tasty things

Dark Eldar 2000 points V2

I basically agree with everything said above. Specialize your reavers, splinter up your kabbies etc.

Alas, I will go out on a limb and say that arena champs are not all that bad. Ld9 vs Ld8 is the world of difference on a jetbike, as the fallback can be bad, and if you fail to rally again, you are liable to be off the table. That said, they are more of a finishing touch, once you have spent your last big chunk(I.E. no arena champ before you max our your heavies, field more models where possible, etc.)

The stunclaw is not bad, persay...but the venom blade is FREE! You could also get a power weapon for the same price, and if your opponent is smart, they will get the IC in the unit into a challenge, or force you to refuse. A power lance would probably be better, or go free venom blade.

The huskblade vs agonizer debate...well both have their merits. You have a LOT of AP2 with the incubi, but then again most challenge people have 2+ saves. Really going to depend on what your up against, but neither is wrong. Huskblade+venom blade is solid.

A 3rd heavy is the correct choice, neither a ravager or razorwing is the wrong answer. Take one with the appropriate defensive shields (flicker or night) and then spend points left in the fun upgrades.

Personally I would drop the archon and go with a haemie to accompany your incubi to give them a bit more survivability and since theres already 9 of them they should be able to take care almost anything thats thrown at them. That will free up enough points to get a squad of wracks to camp on your rear objective since your troops are kinda lacking.
