Slave spam is a very effective build for skaven if your playing competitively, at 2000 three 50 man slave blocks with engineers in (give one the doom rocket), a block of clanrats for your bsb and grey seer to sit in, and pretty much any rare choices you want as the book is fairly solid in that regard......I'm not a particular fan of plague monks but I do like rat swarms (although I'm not sure if they removed their effect on core allowance).....What I've listed above would total roughly 500 for core (3 blocks of slaves with no ugrades, block of thirty clanrats with shield and four rat swarms) 240 for a lord (grey seer, add upgrades to taste) 72 for a basic bsb and 350-365 for a hell pit and catapult which totals at 1212 throw in your block of plaguemonks with the plague banner and your two rat ogres brings it up to near 1500

Oddly enough people sometimes use rat ogres in small amounts as flanking unit that goes after war machines on here.

Warlocks can be ok with magic and i'm surprised i'd say this but i'm glad i have quite a few of them now (probably 4 given the 2 'island of blood' sets) mostly because you can take them in with skaven slaves and improve leadership (at a mere 15 pts base cost).

I think plague monks are nice but that's just me. I enjoy the plague furnace as sometimes it's pretty good. It probably isn't as insane as the hellpit abomination but for as long as the furnace is up it can do a decent amount of damage with the 'wrecker attacks' with the giant censer. Not to mention the plague banner with the unit is pretty good too. However if you take this unit the agreed smallest unit of plague monks you want is a unit of 40.

Warlords are ok but nothing too special. Honestly i don't think they're that worth it unless you take them with a fellblade or as a BSB chieftain.

Poisoned wind mortars and warpfire throwers are pretty good. I know in a couple games my mortar managed to kill like 5 saurus cavalry which is actually pretty crazy and helped a whole lot. Warpfire throwers are pretty much scary against anything that isn't an incredibly large or tough monster or war machine or cavalry. When it hits a warpfire thrower can kill trolls and ogre units, massed hordes of weak infantry or to a lesser degree decently armored infantry like warriors of chaos.

thank you for the answers it help me a lot !!!!!!

i want to make an army that i can win with various ways and use the elements i like the most (range attacks and magic).
I really don't want to be competitive, i want to play models i like (screaming bell with the grey seer ,doomwheel, assassin and warp canon)
I guess that i have to start with small games until i understand the rules and "feel" the way i have to run my army.

thanks any way and any other ideas are wellcome !!!!!

P.S. What to buy with the codex a doomwheel or the screaming bell to start playing in my list????
