That being said, can someone give me some pointers on which paints to use to get something like the nice, light brown bases PP uses on most of their models, as shown in the pic below? My FLGS carries all GW paints and some Vallejos, and I'm planing on buying whatever I need tomorrow. I suggest that you use a fairly muted brown for the wash or try that textured stuff, stirland mud. A warm brown won't look quite like what I see above I think.

I suggest that you get what you think you nee and experiment a bit on spare bases before you commit yourself.
