I have however painted the Space Wolves paint scheme, I also like it. You will need, Space Wolves Grey(among other things) chaos black, bad moons yellow(or any medium style dark yellow), scab red, and some metallic paints for the weapons and some armour, namely; chainmail, boltgun metal, and shining gold.

Then for hair and beards, get whites light greys and blacks.

First base in Chaos Black, and fill in any blank spots. Then, use the Space Wolves Grey, as the first layer for the armour. Then, use either the yellow for the pauldrons, or the red, depending on what unit you are painting.

I like to get all the colors on a first layer, and then continue the process for 2-3 layers, this way, any areas that have overlapped, can simply be fixed.

After a good couple layers of Space Wolves Grey, and on the pauldrons with the yellow or red, start to paint the face.

Use a layer of Dwarf Flesh, and if there is hair and/or a beard, use different layers depending on the color of beard. Use 2 layers of Dwarf Flesh, and for example white/grey hair: use a layer of skull white, followed with one of Codex Grey, and highlight with the white again.

Now, add highlights with a lighter softer blue, around the knees, pauldrons and chest. One thing I find that really helps, is the badab black wash. It will bring out many small details, and also give a rugged look.
